I was playing one of the best games of all time yesterday, Chrono Trigger (for the SNES, not the playstation remake, ) and I noticed something interesting.

When one of the playable characters, Frog, does his "celebration" dance (after a battle, other random times), he displays one prominent beefy arm. And when I mean beefy, I mean almost the size of the sprite of the character itself.

Anyway, due to the fact that Chrono Trigger has been referenced before on Homestarrunner.com (Strong Bad mumbling "Chrono Trigger" in his sleep), do you think that the idea of "One Beefy Arm" for Trogdor could be a real life reference to Frog's "One Beefy Arm"?

Nah, the "one beefy arm" was just because his previous dragon attempt (you know, the S is for Sucks) had beefy arms and legs. So, when he scrapped that one and drew Trogdor, he just stuck on one o' the arms cause they looked cool. Gotta have muscles.

You're probably right...

However, I still reserve hope. The resemblance is too close. Just because Strong Bad drew the S is for Sucks dragon first doesn't mean that Trogdor wasn't created first when drawing up the toon. Oh well, I thought I would throw it out there.

PS - Chrono Trigger still owns all RPGS, ever, period (except for maybe FF3/6, depending on your style).

Or Terranigma. Those three were the greatest RPGs ever.
I don't think it's a reference, but I see what you mean. He really has a huge beefy arm when he does his victory pose. But it's not similar enough to call Trogdor's arm a reference to Frog.

i think it was mere coincidance, the reason Trogdor had an ol' beefy arm was bacon the S that sucks did, the reason the S that sucks did was bacon Strong Bad thinks he has arms like that
