Does anyone here think homsar is really intelligent, but doesn't make any sense? the wiki seems to.

Intelligent? That may be a bit of a stretch. He's probably just insane.

Well, there is this possibility, but I doubt it. Remember, that guy once stuck bubble gum all over his face.

Hm, interesting. It seems that my post count has gained another digit.

He's got what they call "Word Salads." That's where you kinda mix up words or make up imaginary words without control.

The ability to speak does not make one intelligent. I mean, Hillary Clinton does quite a lot of talking, but that doesn't make her smart. But I digress.

Homsar is probably some sort of physical manifestation of all that is evil in Free Country USA. Somehow, the true evil has been repressed, and the only thing that oozes to the surface is the nonsensical ramblings. He can do all kinds of supernatural things: walk on walls, levitate, ingest live scorpions and yet still live, survive being crushed by a massive weight. I mean, I think the evidence pretty much speaks for itself.

I believe homsar is kinda evil. Maybe an evil sorcerer, I mean, it seems like he can turn reality upside down! My friend and I made up this stuff about homsar being a collective borg-like race that assimilate planets and turns people into homsars and stuff. The homsar on homestarrunner.com was sent to assimilate free country USA. ''

I think Homsar used to be a normal dude, and then some fan suggested SB to hit him with an heavy lourde, for quite a while no parts of his brain were damaged, until he gained the ability to see the distant future, where people talk using sayings that us present people could not understand. But he cannot see the real universe he's in, so he just adapted his way of life.

Or maybe he used to be a normal dude, then he bought a mystical bowler hat with unknown powers from Bubs' stand. The hat has a life of its own and realised that Homsar is an ideal host body, that's why it always gets back on Homsar's head. And That Fezze he wore once was the bowler hat's cousin; Robert C. Beaviebead

Or maybe he was a parallel Homestar and he wants to fit in FCUSA because he used to live in his own reality and his friends there hate him also.

Or maybe he just wants the attention

I think it was painkillers that did it to him, he said on marzipans answering machine "I still cant feel my legs"

But yet they are all grammatically correct.

Homsar's word salads are characteristic of schizophrenia.

Who knows what Homsar is really all about. A friend and I were actually discussing him the other day. We postulated that perhaps he is more than just a complete looney. Perhaps Homsar is an oracle of vast, universal truth that is beyond mortal human comprehension. Human nature is very proud, so we hide our misunderstanding by dismissing Homsar as just being insane. He could very well have the wisdom of a prophet or perhaps a buddha.

In marzipans answering machine, everything he said made sense.
I think he just got addicted to the pain killers.

Ahem.
1. Homsar's rants sometimes actually make sense, e.g. "This is a real popular song! Who wants to hear of it fifty times more?"
2. I agree with the Brainb Damage theory.
In "homsar", he acted perfectly normal and greeted SB.
In one "Marzipan's Andwering Machine", he phoned her from the hospital and still talked normal...
In the next Machine, he called again; but this time all he said was "WaAaAaAaAaAaAaA!"
And then he reappered in his crazy self. :homsar:

It seems like there are these little bits of intelligence that fight through in what he says. Like, he knows what he wants to say, but it just comes out jumbled. He clearly at least was normal (Marzipan's answering machine is evidence of this). He seems to feel emotion, given his dejected state during the pumpkin carving contest, his loyalty to Strong Sad as a friend, and his enthusiasm for working with kids on his TV show. I say ol' Homsar just needs to have his character developed a little bit more, and someday, we may be able to actually understand the guy.

Either the pain killers made him crazy ("I still can't feel my legs) or he's posessed. The posessed theory is in the Halloween answering machine, Strong Sad says that him and Homsar are gonna "bust out the ouiji board" and then Homsar just calls and says "DayAaAaAa AaAaAa AaAaAaAa!"

Most likely the pain killers, though.

Hey I have Aspergers Syndrome but I don't talk in word salads.

Well at least there's one point in his direction: "He does as he's told."

And he might just speak that way to conceal evil plans that he and Strong Sad are concocting after years of torment... oh God.. WARN STRONG BAD!!

Edit: Or maybe he's just a funny chracter made up by the brothers chaps no wait, he is a funny character made up by TBC.

While he does appear to have a screw loose, I've always entertained that Homsar does in fact know MUCH more than he lets on.

Also, a random tanget on possible superpowers (as seen from his character page) I think a lot of it is simply attributed to a Chuck Norrisesque take on things: how can he make a paintbrush sound like a bell? why does his hat do that? what's with the eggplant?

Because he's Homsar.

he creeps me out. i mean, he is so powerful, yet he has no brain ability. although, i think the bowler hat gives him mystical powers at the cost of his mind.

Hey I have Aspergers Syndrome but I don't talk in word salads.

My brother does though. ;)

I'm not saying that autism causes people to talk in word salads, but it can affect the way a person behaves. Homsar does have word salad syndrome, but the silliness of the words is also affected greatly by autism.

However, I was talking about the fact that Homsar could be a genius, and just misunderstood. That's all.

The Autism/Asperger's theory is certainly interesting. However, strange, silly behavior can apply to many different mental and behavior syndromes. "Autism!" generally isn't the first conclusion I come up with when I see Homsar. I don't think he demonstrates enough of the classic characteristics of the disorder (i.e. social aloofness, extreme obsessiveness, etc.) By that same token, autism is one of those disorders that has such an incredibly vast, diverse list of symptoms. No two people with it are alike, nor are they all equally affected by it. I suppose that with that in mind one could argue the autism theory for Homsar.

But I do agree with Magna Carta about the 'misunderstood genius' aspect of it. My older brother has autism and is proven to have an extremely high IQ. He just acts very strange. He does say a lot of really weird, random stuff at inappropriate times. They could be mistaken for word salads but they actually are just random sentences he's repeating that he heard from somewhere else (most often from t.v.).

But to get back on track, I honestly don't think TBC had schizophrenia, autism, or any other disorder in mind when creating Homsar. I think they know that many people find randomness hysterical and wanted to incorporate that occasionally in their work.

Once again, chica, you prove to be one of my favorite people here on the forums. And I agree wholeheartedly with that -- random is FUNNY. I just don't think TBC would incoperate a disease into a character who exists only to amuse. That'd be cruel.
