Should Homestar Runner make a new character if so what should it be named.

Adding a new character would not be a good idea. It would be wierd if you just created a new character. It wouldn't be the same as if he/she was there from the beginning.

Homsar wasn't their from the beginning. Technically, only Homestar, Pom-Pom, Strong Bad, and The Cheat were there from the beginning. Just as long as the character is moved in slowly, it should be fine. The character should be female, preferably.

I meant from the relative beginning, before it became extremely popular.

Well, since I'm sure nobody here has been at Homestarrunner.com since the Sbemail "homsar", since that was STILL pretty far back, we can say that all the characters have been with us since the beginning. However, adding a new character would be fine by me- as long as it was dealt with reasonably. The Poopsmith was first introduced as a gag (There was a Blacksmith, and there was a Poopsmith), as was Homsar. So, yeah, I think a new character would be fun!

You could always get another female character by someone emailing in "Marizpan" or something... although I don't think Homsar needs a girlfriend... *shudder*

I have always missed the blue dude that is "not the strongest man in the world". I dunno about a new mainstream character, though. I mean, have you noticed all of the characters (not mainstream) that have been made since Homsar? They look like at least one regular character no matter what. I think that tBC wouldn't be able to make an original design, but then again, I also doubted that Homestar could be kicked 10 times in a row.

It could mess up the chaotic and hysterical balance Los Bros Chap...os have created in their work of art.

So no.

I'd like TBC to add a few more girl characters, but that's all.

I definitely would prefer them to stick to the original cast. I'd rather see them develop some of the old ones instead, as TBC once mentioned in an interview about the future of the site.
And as far as new female "main" characters goes... Wouldn't that kind of spoil the "I'm the only girl"-gag of Marzipan's? I'd much rather see some new female supporting characters, if that's the case.

Can someone draw one? Homestar runner has a distict style which is hard to make without coping other characters.

In some of the interviews listed on the Wiki, they mention that they want to add another female character, but they don't have any good ideas for her yet. So I expect that someday, another female character will appear.

Try to stick to the point. No need to be nitpicky.

I think that a new main character (one that would make it to the Characters page) wouldn't be a good idea.

If The Bros. Chaps can successfully make a new character without it sucking, it would be good, but somethetimes it doesn't work out well.

No way! The site is too good without any new characters, and putting in a new one might ruin the website.

I agree with Einen. I'd like to see them develop the original cast a bit more before they go adding new characters. So far, the only characters TBC have really explored and/or developed are Strong Bad, Homestar, and maybe The Cheat and Marzipan, although I think they could greatly expand upon Marzipan's few character traits.

As for the rest of the cast, there are seemingly endless possibilities for new quirks and character interactions. The Bubs/Coach Z friendship is practically screaming to be played upon, and it would be interesting to see how certain characters that don't interact with each other very often (such as the KOT and Marzipan or the Poopsmith and anybody, for that matter) would interact together.

I also think the addition of a new character would upset some of the cartoon's running gags. If a new female character was added, for example, it would mess up the whole gag that nearly every male character has a crush on Marzipan, and, in my opinion, make the Answering Machines less funny.

To sum up everything I've said, TBC haven't yet developed the original cast to their full potential, and the addition of a new character, female or no, would disrupt much of what they have.

So, at the moment, I'm opposed to the addition of a new character.

hmm...my humble opinion on this matter.

I agree with Krissy, Einen, and whoever else said that a new female supporting character would be good, rather than an actual main character. Possibly a female Pom or something along those lines... It could help the balance without changing the fact that "Marzipan's the only girl", since this female wouldn't appear too often, just like Trogdor or Marshie.

I think instead of developing a new character, per se, that they should develop a minor character into the mainstream.

For example, Eh, Steve! has a potential to come in at random, in any situation, and yell "Eh, Steve!". Or Senor Cardgage might appear more often.

But if a new character was to be developed, it would have to be someone who doesn't just say random things ala Homsar and Senor Cardgage. Perhaps The Baker? Someone who cooks things... perhaps a Cooksmith?

I think that they should develop more some of the other characters instead of making a new one. I agree with Krissy that they should go deeper into the Bubs/Coach Z friendship. That, or if they do want a new main character, they could always promote one of the minor characters up to thr main status.

What they should do is make biscut dough hands man a character. That would be sweet.

Nah, I think that he would get old WAYYYY too fast.

It's like Homsar:
Too much of a good thing is an awesome thing.
Too much of an awesome thing is a really crappy thing.. with biscuit dough hands.

If they wanted to introduce a new female main character they could make it Pom-Pom's girlfriend (or one of them at least) that way the character would not be totally new but still refreshingly refreshing.

The problem is, they can't really think of a new character from scratch.
And plus, it would have to be somewhat of a normal character.

Because one random guy like Homsar is enough.

So it would probably be really hard for a new charcter to work its way into the stories.
