It's because Senor Cardgage was originally Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad, Strong Bad in a "different kind of cool" form. Notice how he appeared as one of the SB versions in alternate universe.

I don't think that he's an alternate SB though. He seems to be a real guy, who just looks like Strong Bad. As for being his father, that remains to be seen.

In Sbemail 150, he says he'll ADOPT Stong Bad. Also, String Bad calls him "senor", and my Spanish friends don't call their fathers se(n with ~)or.

That is, unless Senor Cardgage is SB's father, but SB doesn't know that.

Senor is a real person. Strong Sad confirmed it in the same email he appeared in.

:senor: is definitely not :sb: 's father. The concept for :senor: was originally based off of :sb: as though he were a creepy guy. Homestarrunner tends to stray away from family ties. The only family we see in the whole cartoon is :sb: :sm: and

Note: I may be forgetting about some brief references to families.

OK, people? I've mentioneed this before, and I'll say it again. Can you please not use emoticons to replace names? It gets really annoying. I'm going to start to delete posts if this keeps happening.

Ah, the age-old question regarding Strong Bad and Señor Cardgage's so-called relationship. Señor Cardgage being Strong Bad's father looks doubtful, but you never know...

I myself don't think Señor Cardgage is Strong Bad's father figure. First of all, they're not anything alike. Strong Bad's a loud, obnoxious, cocky, surly, in-your-face, wrestleman! Señor Cardgage is... a creepy old man who spews nothing but nonsense and has a comb-over. That's right, completely different. Also, you never see the two "hanging out" or participating in father-son activities. Well... there was that one time during the Senorial Day Tent Event Supra Sale when Señor threw a football for Strong Bad... but that was just that one time. Also, if Strong Bad did have a sneaking suspicion that Cardgage was his father, he'd be hounding the old guy non-stop! Oh, and let's not forget Gron Sad's lines in the "kind of cool" Sbemail.

: "Uh, excardon me, but none of that stuff is cool, Strong Bad. You basically described that creep Señor Cardgage that lived down the street from us when we were little."

:sb:: "What!? You didn't think Senor Cardgage was cool?"

: "No! He was extremely sketchy and gave me nightmares."

I don't know about you... but that's enough evidence for me.

Then again... Strong Bad DOES look up to Señor Cardgage. He seems to always admire how "cool" Señor is, even when nobody else does. I mean, Cardgage is clearly an old creepy man with an annoying voice and no sense of style, yet Strond Bad can't help thinking that he's hip. Also, they both seem to have an obsession with peas. In "The Cheatar", Strong Bad asks The Cheat to open a can of peas for him. And in "kind of cool", Homestar Runner constantly remarks that Señor Cardgage smells like pea soup.

I think they're both just the same species of "Homestar species:" The Wrestleman. SB and Strong Mad both seem like they're species of Wrestleman, while SS is presumably more closely related to whatever their mother was... Or father, if their mom was a wrestle-woman.

Ha ha, I WISH I was one of The Brothers Chaps! Man, they got it made right now! They've got a popular web cartoon site that rakes in twice butt every day! They're both incredibly talented, they're practically world-renowned and they have a massive fan-following! Matt Chapman has even worked on cartoons that have hit TV! Er... but enough about my hopes and aspirations.

Thanks for the compliment dog, but I'm just doing what they taught me in Science! Examine the information and draw conclusions. I think it's called... making an inference... or creating a hypothesis... or a theory... or something like that!

.....no. Senor is his own seperate and rather lame character. :senor: He's an alternate version of Strong Bad. No question.

Strong Bad doesn't actually have a dad.

I still say Homsar is Homestar's dad, but that's a bit off-topic.

Wha? Oh, I didn't mean that The Brothers Chaps taught me in science, that's just another one of those shooting stars I'll never reach. When I said "what they taught me in science", I just meant all the science teachers I've had over the years. And as far as I know, none of them are even CLOSE to TBC. Man, that would be so cool...

Better keep it on topic though...

That's a very interesting theory... "Homestar Runner Species"... It seems a bit far-fetched, but you never know.

Lessee..... It's obvious Poms is a species, thanks to the old PomPom flash. Homestar and Homsar seems to be alike too, there is a height and girth difference, but they still lack arms but have legs. And, if the old characters page is still cannon, then the KOT and Marzy-person are the same species as well. They have no visible arms or legs, just torso and head. And if Strong Bad and Strong Mad are the same species, 'The Wrestlemen' then so Strong Sad, who reminds me of the fatter wrestlers such as the Iron Sheik and Rikishi, should be one as well. And it wouldn't be such a stretch if Senor was one too.

well they mentioned that senor cargage lived next door to the strong brothers, and i dont know anyone whos dad lived down the street. well if you are an adult and you moved back to your own neighboorhood i could see that happening, but they were kids. so i am 99% sure he is not their dad.

And what about Pom Pom, Stom Stom and Stella Do?

...I really want to draw a WrestleMan mom for them now...

Yeah, I think this is a lot like the "HOMESTAR AND HOMSAR: BORTHERS?!' argument. I think they're just the same 'species', if you will. Much like Teeny here. BD

Besides, since when do people adore their dads that much? Especially people over the age of ten (which, I ASSUME Strong Bad is D8).

It's possible SB looked up to Senor so much in his childhood that he started dressing like him. And I would know. (Note my username)

Strong Bad and Cardgage are the same species.
As are Homestar and Homsar.

They definately are the same species, but would Strong Mad really fit into that? It seems like SM should be categorized under a separate Sub-Species whose heads don't protrude from thier bodies for some reason.

Senor Cardgage could be Strongbad's father but we still don't know for sure.

Sadly enough: I started sketching out a family tree for the Brothers Strong, explaining where they inhereted all of their looks. xDD It was rather hilarious.

I should did it out one day~
