Oh... man. I can't stand those things. I can understand making it somewhat hard to read, but that takes the cake! They're so hard to read... Could you consider changing them?

Yeah, when I was signing up with one site, it took me about three goes before I got it. They're getting harder all over the net.

I always find the security images on any site to be a boring and highly unnecessary task for the most part. Some sites make it way too hard to read, and it's often hard to tell what is an uppercase letter if it's the same when the letters are warped like that. (Like in "o" and "O", or even "0")

I think Hrwiki's is fine as it is. It's certainly not the hardest out there.

Well, when moving pages on the fanstuff, it can take three or four tries to see what the letters are. I think you should make it so they use only capital or only lowercase letters, that way we won't be confused as to whether its a capital I or lowercase l.

Yeah. Sometimes I just give up on editing a page when I can't get it right. I think this is one of the hardest ones out there, myself.

KittenAuth is my suggestion. :) You can see how it works at the bottom of the page.

I saw that on Digg. Using it with Homestar Runner characters would be awesome.

Unnecessary? Don't you remember the NSMC attack? That's why they're there. I think the wiki one is too hard though.
To a bunch of people: I agree it can get frustrating, but why not just log in?

Even when you're logged on you need to go by the security image to move a page. It usually takes me about 4 or 5 tries to get it, and it can be annoying.

I can edit pages without a security image. [s]I guess I forgot about my secret powers[/s] --I mean that's weird.

One problem with doing something with homestar related chars is... if you want to do anything fancier than just identifing who's who in an image, you also have to add in some translation software.

If all it asks is to click on an image of strongbad, I think that would be kinda easy to find (each character uses a specific color pallete, and the each have their own fairly-distinct shape).

To reiterate what ed has already said, don't you guys remember the spam attacks we were getting? That is the main reason we have these sorts of security guards in place. I don't know what else we could do to prevent agains automated attacks.

(if you have any good suggestions, I am more than wiling to listen)

A good way to use that would be to have all the pictures be of one character, but with some distinction in pose or something. For example, a bunch of images of the Cheat, and then you have to identfy the one that has him with his hands on his hips.

I think we should just get an easier to read image. One that randomly chooses from a variety of kinda odd buyt still easy to read fonts (Like Comic Sans)

Okay. I worded it wrong. I was incorrect. Fine. Whatever.

The point is, it's still annoying on most sites. And it wouldn't be so annoying if they were a tad easier, especially the Hrwiki one.
