Ok, Ive seen boards like this at other forums. The way it works is that the topics a user makes can only be seen by mods and admins. To everyone else the board appears empty. In this manour a user can have a private disscussion with all the mods admins all at once. Its more effective then PM's in my experience because you dont have to send it to each mod/admin, you just post and they can all see and respond.

I bring this idea up because I want to discuss the issue of the small drama made in the guitar hero thread with mods/admins but I did not think it would be appropriate to do publicly and thought it would be hard to do through PM's.

Thoughts and considerations? Good/bad idea?

Hmm...I'm not even sure how one would even set that up...

EDIT: This is a simulpost.

Is that possible to do in phpBB 3 without a modification? If not, it probably won't happen... You can send an 'open PM' to us and we'll post it in the mod board for all to see (people have done that before), which might be better than a regular PM, but still probably not what you're looking for..

Wouldn't it work with permissions?

I think this isn't needed.

You could also try sending it to all the mods at once by copying all their names into the "to" box in a PM. Then, every time we respond, it should reply to all the same users, including you. The only problem is that it might bother mods who either don't care or are inactive if they recieve a notification after every single PM.

Yeah, but you'd have to set one up for every individual user...

Im sure theres a way to auto set up permissions. As I said, Ill look into the logistics, I just want to know if you agree or disagree with the idea.

Heres a better idea: Drop it.

Rule of thumb, if after three days, someone still won't put it to rest, it becomes more than just a spark, it turns into a Forrest fire.
