While I don't venture to that Forum often (I'm naive about both religion and politics), I've always seen it as more of a place for "serious" discussion and debates. For instance, I remember posting once a long time ago about a lady getting run over in front of my house, thinking that it was meant for only more serious of audiences. Of course, it got moved to Off Subject...

A name change may be appropriate for it, but I don't have the most experience in that section, so it may very-well not be.

I'm in favor of keeping the name "Religion & Politics". We don't necessarily have to limit our discussion to those two topics. It's just a way of saying "controversial stuff".

A lot of boards call it 'Serious Business' or 'Serious Discussion', and... I don't know, I just really don't like the name. Even though not EVERYTHING in there is religious or political, the name should still emphasize that it does contain/is intended for religion and politcs.

Either keep it or rename it "Debate".

But perhaps you should keep it called R&P for old times' sake.

Changing both could work, but the description itself is probably more important than its category name.

But why confine it to the same name when it doesn't apply solely to R&P. It wouldn't make sense to have it say

Well if we act fast it won't be the most significant change to the main page. ;)

I say a description change would work best, unless you plan to include a lot of different types of discussion.

I don't really think it's necessary. There hasn't really been any problems or confusion with the current name or description, so I see no real reason to change it.

I don't see why we need R & P to include technology, sports, and entertainment anyway. Those subjects are already discussed in Off-Subject with no problems.
