For me it was the friendliness of it all. I remember way back in 05, I was a giant noob. Got into a few flame wars with some more-liked people, got chased off to the Fanstuff. And I came back, all because of the friendly people and the atmosphere. I remember people saying that it was an Internet oasis. I haven't heard that since about 2006.

Dude, thank you for the reminder. :)

Hmm, I voted 7. But maybe I should downgrade my vote because of all this suicide talk? ;)

I chose 7 because it seems like the forum has a great balance of H*R threads, and off-topic threads.

Also, even with all of this homicide encouragement (heehee), I found that the members here have great senses of humour and most seem pretty passionate about Homestar, which makes for a good community.

But don't mind me too much, I only signed up yesterday.

I'm likin' it so far. The only thing I notice is that the "drama" tends to spawn from oversensitivity. But you get that in lots of forum atmospheres... the internet being serious business and all. I'm pretty used to it, so it's decent.

Oh, shoot, I mean... THEY'RE PEOPLE TOO, OHMYGODBENICERAINBOWPUPPIES.

No, that's just the people who post in the top forums who are pretty passionate about Homestar.

A good portion of bottom forumers are "passionate" about Homestar, we just don't talk about it.

Wow. I'm less impressed than I would have been if he were, like, 12, but I'm still impressed.

A person with a homestar avatar, who types in purple text, and seems intelligent, is pretty rare.

Thanks. :)

I'm turning 24 this year, by the way. I'm also female..

I don't usually play around in forums, but I decided to take the plunge due to my job being slow. So the forum's been a lot of fun. :)

Welllllllll then. I'm a faceless evil, and I tend to descend upon metropolis areas such as Manhattan to terrorize the hapless populace. I do hope we can be fast-friends... before the government fills me with missles.
