Is this really such a big deal? On both sides, is it too big of a deal to make a dang new sub-forum? to the other side, is it too dang hard to just make a new dang thread?

Not really but the argument is that people would make more threads for unknown games if we had a subforum. I say make the threads anyways, most of the threads will only get 15 responses anyways, but whatever.

Now, if we were to have 2 jillion threads about video games, it might be a valid point. I don't think it'll make discussion, since discussion can still happen. There are a lot of dumb threads in OT. Not having a sub-forum for those items didn't stop those threads from being made.

That post is moot now, because it appears that things did improve.
People were making all sorts of posts that would have struggled to make sense in random thoughts. It's back on topic now.

I whole Heartily agree, it give more room to non-video game threads at Off-Subject Discussion and make it easier to find video game threads.

I have to side with splitting it. I have to admit, the threads aren't clogging Off-Subject, but it would be more convenient that way. I also have another idea: Split Off-Subject with TV, which could include video games, because they're mainly played on the TV. Plus, TV shows and Video Games together are clogging it, but not alone. Just an idea...

this I'd be much more willing to support - it's arguably broad enough to have its own board. If others like this idea, I'll bring it up with the admins (I know Ram already supports it, but that's probably not enough)

That's not a very good idea. A lot of people get their political news from TV, do we move R&P to a TV subforum. If they were gonna do that, seperate would be better.

Nothing's being clogged and all of the threads will have 3 posts in them.
