He made a post today, Cola. (I'm pretty sure I wasn't reading a thread from a year ago, anyways...) |

We need someone who understand every aspect of the forum. Someone who knows when things are getting to heated, and what to do about it. Someoen to step into a Rule 6 argument and say "Fellas, fellas, Shut the Rule 6 up, Lol Internets" |

Yeah, IJ's more active than I thought. He probably browses, just doesn't post too often. |

That's what I thought, Cola. Guess I don't know. There's another option - if Mods and Admins agree that we need new ones but can't single anybody out, we could hold open voting like the Fanstuff Wiki. There'd you'd be able to vote for or against anybody, and if I recall correctly, they got a pretty great sysop out of the whole thing. So people could get their running, see if it's okay with mods and such, and we could vote for and against. i.e, one vote is worth one point. One vote against is worth minus one point. In other news I'm putting way too much thought into this... |

Lets say...Someone puts Jello B. into teh running, and somebody puts...I dunno, you into the running. Now, there are people who like you better than him, and some that like him better than you. It would turn into a popularity contest, and cause more Drama than just having the Admins select someone. I'm not sure how we could get it to where the people decide who the new admin would be without it turning into a popularity contest. |

Surprisingly, I agree with COLA: It would probably end up becoming a popularity contest. We all know what happens when it becomes a popularity contest– we've been living it for the past seven years. |

yeah, it would cause un-needed drama. In which case the only option I can think is the mods passing the torch down with their own people in mind. Or, for the voting thing, people could just PM who they want to be a mod, but that could obviously be rigged. (and if Jello and I were in a contest for adminship, I'd give it to him, hands-down. He has a lot more technical knowledge than I do and already has admin experience over at the HRWFWF) |

We need a good, strong, powerful Admin who understands the Dynamics of the forum, and how everyone acts. Someone who won't be a dictator, but will do whats best for the forum.
EDIT: Didds....Seriously... |

I'd like to see some of the mods (besides Didy, he's posted his opinion) and possibly Stu in here to see what they think about this whole thing. |

Okay, we all agree, we need a New Admin who's on most of the time, understands the forum, and who wont just up and leave us. Question is, Who, and how are we gonna get the Admins to listen? |

I've already explained the "Who" thing. I'm not sure which of the mods would be more suitable than the others, though, if any of them are. Second, if the mods agree with us, they'd probably go in talks with the admins about the whole thing. |

Mods - eh...we have enough. Admins - HECK YES. We need one or two more of these. We need some who are funny, but also serious enough to strike with the banhammer...HARD. But as to who would be an admin...I haven't a clue. Anybody's good, I guess, as long as they have some brains. |

But Printer, most of the mods we've had are inactive, hence why the current "mod trio" branched away from their originally chosen forums to every forum. |

Eh, good point. Just apply what I said to mods, too. |

I haven't really posted on here too much for the last couple months or so (more of a lurker at the moment...and more of a lazy person at the moment), but Jello brought me over to this topic, and I guess I'll get my opinion out. I'd say that if Didy and the other mods want a bit of relief from moderating the entire forum, then we should get at least one more mod on (who plans on staying long-term) to just spread out the responsibility of constantly checking around the forum for spam and the like. As for admins, we definitely need a new one who can keep checking up on the forum on a regular basis. However, as others have said, the admin shouldn't be too strict and be like, "WATCH IT, YO, OR A BAN'S COMING YOUR WAY," to every other off-topic post a person makes; I'd say the person should be like Seethroo: reasonable, funny, but strict when the situation is right (ie. Clan). I guess I'm not the most active on the forum right now, so I can't really tell if the situation of n00bs is really over-the-top or not, but I have seen a lack of adminship from the times I am on. |

First off, I agree fully what many of you guys are saying. We do need an admin or two on here, possibly one that is more forum oriented than Wiki oriented. Possibly promoting Rad, Dids, or myself (Maybe all three). As for new mods, it can never hurt. We need someone that is smart, reliable, honest, and can peacefully resolve situations. Someone that can also bridge the WF/WFWF gap as well. We're not going to have a contest for it, because like stated earlier, it'll lead to a popularity contest. Us mods have been discussing this for a while, but unfortunately with each admin gone for one reason or another. |
