More Sweet Cuppin' Cakes emoticons...definitely TGS emoticons. I've been to a forum where they have a tinfoil hat emoticon guy!!! We could definitely use more fonts too.
What say you?

That would be cool, I'd prefer more smilies! We have plenty of charecters, but some TGS would look cool..... ;)

We actually do have some TGS emoticons...you just need a Firefox extension...that's around here...somewhere...

And what the crap do you mean by fonts? There's only one.

Here's the link to the thread.

I don't know how much of it works still, and I don't know all of the dynamics to getting new icons to work on it anymore (darn this dain bramage), but you can see what all you can do with it.

Also, I doubt that we will see any new fonts anytime soon. I remember from awhile back, that the admins and mods decided that they wanted the forum to stay similar for each user, so no styles or fonts would be added to it (or it was something like that...darn this dain bramage...).

More H*R emoticons? I've actually been considering suggesting that we take the H*R ones off. The only time that it's feasible to use them is in a dialogue when you're replacing characters' names with the images, and that's always frowned upon. So there's really no use for them

Now, if we had only, say, Homestar emoticons, each with him conveying a different emotion, that could work. The different character ones are useless, though.

Well, every once in a while one or two of the h* emotes works for an emotion, like  when a depressed look might do, or :sm: for anger, you know, just general stereotypical stuff there.

But, more emoticons? I would like to put forth the proposition to comandeer some/all of the fanboys/SA smilies to have in addition to our current emotes. Those things are gold, seriously, and should be available to those who do not make use of greasemonkey.

We really should have more fonts. Especially Westminster. Fonts can convey and emphasize emotion.

I feel like a little girl right now...

There's nothing that prevents you from using them by way of the img tag.

That's where you're wrong. See, that means I have to upload the image, copy the img tag, and paste it. I'm far too lazy to do this. Cater to my lack of motivation.

No. We're not going to cater to every whim just because you're lazy. If we feel that they would be needed, we would add them. But we're not going to add your emotes from the forum formerly known as the WRWFWF just because you're to lazy to open up the smilies tag.

It's not really that hard.
Just copy all of the links into a text file.
Then, as you need one, copy paste from there.

If it's not important enough to do that, it's probably not important enough to post.

Is clicking "control c" then control v too much work?

We really don't need the character ones, I do like the idea of the various emotions of Homestar emotes.

Anyways, can somebody tell me in English how to get more than the 4 default smileys in the GreaseMonkey thing?

That's because I think they're at the formerly known as whatever.

I think we need a facepalm emotion. Like the one in this guys avatar. I mean on the smilies list, since I cant download the auxilliry emotions.

The Auxillery Emoticons script hasn't worked for me since after the upgrade to phpBB 3. I say that some more emoticons could be added (like the ones built into the Auxillery Emoticons script), but only a few, since people seem to use a lot of their own emoticons in posts nowadays.

This is exactly what I think, since I cant use the script files. I wish they could just build them into the forum smilies. :-|

Is it possible to have categories of smilies? Like, for example, there could be a drop-down menu above the smilies. The categories (or folders or whatever) in it could be something like "H*R," "Regular," and "pAU."

I've seen this option on other forums, so I thought I might suggest it.

wanna know how to use cool smilies and keep them in a safe and organized place that you can access easily from your browser?

Simple:

Go to Imageshack and create a FREE account.

From there, you should probably already be using Firefox, but in case you arent, download and install it from http://getfirefox.com

Next, after you have your Imageshack account set up, go back to the Imageshack main page and click on "Tools." From there, you will be brought to a list of useful plug-ins that will enhance your user-experience. Today, you need to click on the Image Shack Toolbar link.

From there, you will be given an embedded FLV that will demonstrate just how this tool bar works, but you need not watch it as this toolbar is user-friendly. Form this page, click on "Install Imageshack Toolbar for Firefox" and follow the set-up instructions.

With this toolbar, you simply right click on any image and clcik "Upload to Imageshack" to instantly get it hosted and receive the codes you need to embed the image on any webpage. It also organizes them according to what tags you give them, such as "Facepalm" for the obvious, and such.

Simply put, it makes it alot easier in the long run to upload and embed images, espescially on forums and crap.

I just got mine working again. I'll try to post a new updated file (or at least instructions for hacking) sometime soon.Image
