An idea popped into my head!

Now hear me out, to get rid of unwanted threads being made, and the like, instead of having a bunch of lockings all over the place, how about...

An idea thread is made where you can propose ideas for new threads to make, people can comment about it, and if a mod or admin thinks a thread idea is unfit for rules, they can simply say no with a logical explanation.

Of course, I know this doesn't cover all angles anyways, because they could make the thread anyways, but I say, for those of us following the management and its rules, we can first propose the idea for a thread, and if it is turned down by management, no fuss, no muss.

Riddled with loopholes I must admit, but this is simply to conserve thread space.

It may not exactly be done, but at least, what do you think?

This has been suggested before, if I recall, and it didn't get much support. My reasoning is it's not that hard to simply lock a thread when necessary. If a thread is made that shouldn't be, we just make a short post, click a few buttons, and it's locked. Having to go through a process for creating threads is more trouble than it's worth.

I think you can just start a new thread. That usually goes over pretty well. Or you could start a discussion in Random Thoughts and it'll get split into its own thread.

Besides, it's not a huge deal if a thread gets locked anyway, unless it clearly breaks a rule or whatever.

I think proposing a thread idea, getting the idea approved and then actually creating the thread would be tedious over time. Plus, it would be hard to make a new thread at two in the morning.

Just make a thread, and if it gets locked or whatever, oh well.

This doesn't require anything but a little common sense and a use of the search button. Does the thread exist? No? Yes? That's it.

Anyway, yeah, I suggested it before. I realize the error of my ways.
