Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this translate to "I don't like the rule, so I'm not going to follow it"?

If that's not the case, could you please explain it out a bit further? Because that's really what you're coming across as, Rusty.

The problem for me at least is not relating to "enforcing the rules" or whatever. It's a matter of the word "pfargtl". I don't like it.

Example: the H word. Not filtered because there are "legitimate" uses of it (especially in R&P). The fact that it isn't filtered somehow "mysteriously" doesn't stop people from using it this way. Why not? Hmm, could it be because they're used to having the filter baby them?

It could be because people honestly don't think it's that bad of a word.

It is, however, very explicitly stated in Rule 6 that it is not allowed. Not to mention I'm sure COLA and Rusty have been told this multiple times. (I definitely told COLA this at least once.)

Look, you guys.
This discussion wasn't meant to be about whether or not it is appropriate for us to use bad words. Rule 6 says it isn't, at least on this forum. That's fine. The discussion is about what the filters for the words are. We've established, using the poll, that the users of the forum would rather that the filter for the F-word be "freaking eh" (as is was before) than "pfargtl."

Well, what I'm saying is, I don't see the problem with using a bad werd if it's going to be censored anyway. It doesn't have any negative effect on anything.

I can understand if we're not allowed to use certain words out of the appropriate context. If it's that much of a problem to you, I'll stop. But if I were to only use words that were censored, I don't see why it would be such a huge problem to use them.

Well it isn't relevant, because it is pfargtl no more.

Or we could leave it open and continue the discussion we're having

You know, before we changed the filter, I was going to post something like this. That whole discussion was irrelevant to the actual purpose of the thread.

But whatever.

Well, you could have split the posts at any time, for, while it was the wrong thread, it was a legitimate discussion.

See? If it wasn't for my being banned multiple times, I would be a decent mod.

Come on.

Come on.
