due to the recent abundance of newbies or not newbies asking a question, then when it's answered, there's alot of "LOCK THIS PLZ!!!!" being thrown around, preventing the thread from disapeareing. So here's an idea: why don't we make a 2nd locked valut for "answered questions" so that lock threads of answered questions go there instead of the spam valut. |

Or we could just add questions to the FAQ. |

From what you've seen, do you really think that people will read the FAQ? If they don't even bother to search for things, do you think that the monumental effort of reading will be accomplished? |

The FAQ is there to help people. If they choose not to read it, then it's their fault. Why should we try so hard to help if they are too stubborn to read the FAQ in the first place? Also, if some new users can't handle posting an introduction in the introductions topic, what makes you think that this new forum will work so well? |

I like the idea, but who's to say that anybody will actually read it? I mean most newbies either don't know we have a wiki (although it should be kind of obvious) or don't bother checking it. |

I think many newbies don't know what a wiki is, believe it or not. When I first came here, I didn't really know. |

No, you've got the wrong idea. This is for people that are making threads like "What sbemail says 'email' in it?" or something of the sort, and attracting the "omg u nub lLO!L lock it" people. |

Some newbies think that the forum is the wiki.(Because they don't know what a wiki is.) |

Ok then maybe we should open up the HelpDesk to stupid questions like that. |

I think that a second vault would be a good idea. Or what if we have a sticky in the General Discussion topic for anyone to ask what happened in what toon. Hysterical Woman had a great idea for making a post for just that reason, but it goes away if it's not posted in. With making it a sticky it stays on top all the time for people to see. |

We already have this...click here But seriously, what would this forum do? Eventually, it would fill up. Then people would start asking the same questions. We don't need a brand new sub-forum for people's unwillingness to use the search capability of the site. That's my opinion, we'll see if the other admins have anything to say. Edit: Creating a sticky with the common questions would be possible, we just need someone to compile it. I am rather busy with school, so I don't really have much time to do it. The other guys may be willing. However, the best answer would be for someone (with more time then me) to create it. If you get something good, we may lock and stickify it. |

It'd be a sub-forum, not a thread. A thread's not as bad of an idea, though. |

Anyone could make a topic like that, though. Just make sure to keep it somewhat serious (Teffer's old topic was unstickied because IJ thought it was a "fun thread") |

... Wait! What are we making again? I think you can be pretty sure that it's not going to be made. It was going to be a type of "Dictionary" where old questions are answered, but it seems the project was scrapped. Or Teff was too lazy to do it.

I think that if it's going to be used, we'll want someone who's been around for longer, because they've experienced trhe questions being asked. However, if no one else wnated to, and you didn't mind searching through the HelpDesk's old threads, I don't think anyone would mind, if the idea is still up for grabs. |

I'll do it, I s'pose. Just give me a few days to get everything in order. I'll just choose a few relevant questions out of the HelpDesk. |
