I think it would be good if we could get prizes for things we've done on HR Wiki. Like how some people got game awards, but we would have alot more, for like how many post we have done, or all the good things we did, or other stuff! The prizes would be something for your signiture, like a picture of somesort. So yah. |

This site tries NOT to reward others for their posts or good deeds to keep things in order. HRWiki members have their own awards and such, which is nice. |

Nah. Post count is over rated. And I'm pretty sure that what I think is good is very different from what you think is good. Oh, and the Wiki is over at http://hrwiki.org. This right here is the Wiki Forum. |

IJ has put this best in regards to prizes with the post counts. This of course is my rendation of it. If we give out prizes, or titles, then people will post useless crap to raise their post count. I mean, look at mine, or anyone else in the top ten really. Most of them have high post counts because they post things that are worth while, and things that benefit the forum. With titles, the forum would fall into nothing but pure SPAM with people saying whatever they want to raise their post count. Just look at the Gamesopt forum. Especially the off-topic discousion topic. There is so much crap there it's horific. I mean, there's topics started about what their cat did, literaly. |

And besides, The Experimental Film came up with the wonderful idea of The Wiki Forum Awards, also known as the Joeys. You really ought to check it out - there are categories for Best Avatars, Best Game-maker, Most Intelligent Poster... all good stuff anyone would like to win, with no prizes for post counts. There won't be any new nominations for about a year, though. |

Didn't TEF replace the Most Intelligent Poster award? |

And if you love awards so much, check out the Fanstuff wiki! Most are for fanstuff, but there's some wiki stuff there too! /plug |

But really, I think the Joeys are all the awards/prizes we really need. |

Yeah but I think when people such as Rainer use the award at the top of their Forum Games to attract players they are abusing the priveledge. |

I don't see it as abusing any privilege. He's just proud of having won the award. I'm sure that if any of us had one, we'd want to show it off, too. |

Well, he isn't selling anything, so I have to disagree. I think that's silly. |

Mr. Sparkle, it's not a "marketing tool". It's not abusing the privilege, because the point of the little trophy picture (and privilege) is to say that you got voted the most for a certain category (in my case, Best Maker of Games). I mean, it's different if I won a category like "Best Maker of Threads" and I put the little picture on top of all my threads I create, that's just stupid. But mentioning the fact I got an award for games on my two game threads is alright for two valid reasons. 1: I need more room in my signature. 2: People who are interested in joining a game know that I have actually received an award for making games. |
