I think we should have a e-newsletter that goes to anyone who subscribes to It. It could feature stuff added to the wiki, Userspace of the week, and more!

What's wrong with putting such features in the wiki itself?

Are you kidding me?

That's not the point.

It's just . . .

Personally, I think that's a great idea. Talk about new features on the wiki, on the forum, and talk about new stuff on h*r, point out a few easter eggs, that would be great.

Keep keeping on.

Then what is?

The point of a newsletter? It's sorta self-explanatory.

I just think it's ingenious.

The point of the newsletter is to give the exact same information you recieve on the Recent Changes page, apparently. In your mailbox! The mind boggles at the sheer necessity of this!

Seriously. There's no good reason for a newsletter at all, especially with the downfall of userspaces.

Basically, you guys want to start a newsletter just for the sake of having a newsletter. That's not the way to run a newsletter. The novelty would wear off and people would probably stop reading it and the whole thing would be a waste of time.

Exactly my point, though I worded it much differently. (I'm too enamored with sarcasm to make my points that well)

Oooorrrrrr... if you want to set one up, then set one up. Those that are interested in it, go ahead and do it (just don't expect help from those that aren't interested).

Just don't do it on the Wiki.

But if there were no changes, wouldn't you be angry if you logged in and spent a minute looking in Recent Changes, only to realize that that date isn't today's?

I'm not sure that there's enough stuff to put in the newsletter to make it something people would want.

Since we have the wiki, why do we need a newsletter?

well, i think it would be cool to have a newsletter, but it is just not needed.

we could put fanfiction and stuff in it. along with articles and an opinion.
