1. Baleet threads that have been locked after a week.

2. Baleet dead threads (threads people haven't posted on in a long time, except admin type threads).

Problem is, I'm too much of a pack-rat. I love having old stuff around. Nostalgia, you know?

Don't deleted posts get removed from our post counts? Not that I think post counts are too important, but I think they should at least be accurate.

(EDIT: Tom and I have tested and confirmed this: deleted posts do get subtracted from the post count.)

More than affecting peoples' post counts....don't we leave locked and old threads on so that noobs know what's already been discussed???

Well, there usually comes a point when n00bs are very unlikely to find such discussions since they're lost among many others. (They might find it by using the search feature, but most people are probably too lazy to use it much...heck, even I am...)

I was just noticing that, especially within the past week or so, we're getting tons of new threads. Many of them are repeats of other topics, and some of them people just ignore. I thought maybe the Admins could do something to cut down on. But you do have some good points: post counts and nostalgia.

I think that after a month or so of no one posting on a forum, it should be locked.

I think you mean "thread", not "forum".

I don't see much use in that. And it'd probably have to be done by hand, which nobody's gonna do.

Here's an idea. Move all the dead threads to a Dead Thread category. That way their still there, but not in the way.

Right. Thread. The point would be that I'm a nitpicker who sees no need for old rotten threads.

I don't think they're in the way as it is. I know forums with 20 pages of dead threads, and they never get in the way there.

Wait! Instead of "Dead Thread" we call it Thread Cemetary of Doomness!

Spooky, huh?
