okay, as from what we have seen in the past day, maybee, a troll was able to enter the forum. as from what i had heard, that guy Necromancer was a troll, got banned, re-joined later as Low Rider, spammed and trolled again, then got banned. and from rumors going around, he apparently came back as Rocket Man. you see the pattern? someone who trolls and gets banned will be tempted to come back and troll again. what i am proposing is stricter ban control. if someone gets banned for something as serious as trolling, they should get banned, their I.P. blocked, and bassically locked out of the Wiki and the Forum. as for members who have been banned and re-joined, it should be to where anyone who joins will have to wait for one of the Admins to Review the new user before he is allowed to post. i think its called Personally allowing someone in, i think...... i dont know, i havent been on my fourms to check, but it should be put in place so the admins can know whos joining and watch them. well? |

All I got to say is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." When a troll shows up we do everything in our power to make sure they never come back without inconveniencing legitimate users. Screening every person who tries to join will do nothing but waste our (meaning the admins') time, alienate newbies, and make us seem like an exclusive, standoffish, insular community. Seriously, folks, can we just once get over a troll attack in less than 24 hours? Why are we still talking about this? We have a troll incident maybe twice a month at most. It inconveniences and annoys us for a few hours. On rare occasions they keep coming back and it really sucks to deal with them, but deal with them we do, and the we move on. Everything is fine, nothing is broken. |
