A feature that I've seen implemented on forums using the same software as this one (I'm guessing it's called phpBB) has a login welcome screen before the initial forum screen with a list of recent new topics and activity. Like, if you were to visit forum.hrwiki.org, you would either... A.) Have a list of all activity since your last visit. (i.e. any new posts in any set # of topics since YOUR last visit, unique to individual users) or B.) Just a list of recent activity. Like the last 10 topics to have posts added to them. For me, I always enjoy this feature on other forums. It makes participating in conversations easier since you can, on one screen, essentially see all the current topic activity. Since these other forums I visit are using the same software for their forums, I just guessed it could most likely be done here too. It would be a most nifty feature addition to the forum. They only recently added it to the other forum I visit about a year or two ago. BTW, one of those forums that supports this that I mentioned is at http://www.anime-beta.com/ I just thought it would be a good suggestion to do the same. I don't see why not? |

Look up on the right corner of the index page (Just above the "Last Post" text). There should be a link that says "View posts since last visit". It requires an extra click, but saves us the trouble of trying to play around with a potentially buggy mod. |
