I've been thinking for a while now if it would be possible to create a mod that would "block", say, all posts by a certain person or something. It might spare some of us our sanity, if you know what I mean. And if you don't, thank Bob. Because you might be offended. But I doubt that's even possible. Just thinking it's been done with things like AIM and crud. Bye. |

But I doubt that's even possible. Just thinking it's been done with things like AIM and crud. Bye. Yeah, I think I saw that on another forum. If there are high-tech mods that let members rate posts and then (in your settings) filter out all posts with an average rating of below a certain number, then I'm sure there is on for this. |

That would totally screw up threads and stuff if certain posts were missing, IMO. If for some reason there was a feature like this, I woudn't use it. EDIT: By the way, all you have to do is search the MODs database if you really want to know if a certain mod is available. |

Well, you don't have to not show the posts. Just a little message in its place stating "You have chosen to ignore posts from this user", with a link that can show the post in question if the viewer wants to. |

There's a Greasemonkey script by some mysteriously unknown guy that accomplishes this. I haven't tried it so I have no clue what it does. I also made one once that replaced all of a certian list of users with a button that said 'show hidden posts', but I never felt like posting it. I never thought it would be that great of an idea, but I guess some people would use it. |

Interesting. It might be a little contrary to our environment, but I think it might be neat just to see if it works..... what the hey, why not? EDIT: No. It doesn't work..... at all. You can't even see any changes on your screen. |

Yeah, I can't figure out how to use this thing. Maybe I'll work harder on mine... |

Pretty sure most forums have an ignore feature. Think it's just turned off here. |

Nope, phpBB 2 has no such feature. It's probably available in the form of a MOD, but you'd have to find it and then make a pretty good case for why we should install it. I believe phpBB 3, which is currently in beta, has such a feature, so when we upgrade (which is still a looong way off) you'll be able to enjoy it. |
