As a desciption it says "Two things you shouldn't discuss in polite company." I just saying are relgious leaders not polite? Are politision not polite (ok some of them are, but that is not the point). I just think that the discription should be altered a little bit.

People have different opinions on those two subjects, and because of that, arguments often occur. Since many people feel very strongly about one side of those two topics, their not the greatest things to discuss at some times with some people.

The description is based of an old, cliched saying. It's not meant to say anything about the topics inside.

The saying generally means that peoples' opinions on the two subjects are often very strong and usually arguments occur. That's why you don't "discuss them in polite company".
