I was looking through the wiki and noticed some newer toon and email pages to have dates on when they were released, usually added by AaronSw. I think that this is a good idea and we should continue adding them regularly. It obviously isn't a big change to the wiki pages to do this, and it does make sense. Poll away.

Definitely! This would be a great source for discussions such as the Deep Sea Fangly Fish argument. I say that it should be a required thing from now on--as it is a somewhat important detail to all toons and such.

Yes! But please don't write them XX/XX/XX, as there can be confusion with a date like 02/01/05 (It can mean both the 2 January 2005 and the 1 February 2005). The date should be written out in full to avoid confusion.

I agree with Rainer about how the dates should be displayed. I think posting release dates is a great idea, and now is the time to do it. Even if we can't get dates for all of the already posted toons, etc., at least we could have them for all new stuff as of Jan 01, 2005.

It makes sense to display the date that the toon came out on. I know there have been times where I've wondered what week a SB E-Mail came out. What I think will difficult is trying to figure out the dates for the older toons and e-mails.

If we aren't 100% sure of the release date, we could put when it was approximately released or not give it a release date.

This is rather off topic, but does anyone happen to know which Strong Bad Emails came out from September 2002- December 2002? It was during this time I first discovered h*r.com... I've been trying to figure it out.

I voted Yes, and it is a good concept to keep the days they are rela\eased- but it would be a tad uneven, dontcha think? I mean, emails like "some kinda robot" obviously won't have any release dates on them, right? So what do we do in cases like this? I guess what I'm saying is that continue on, but don't ever use any guesswork to determine ones you're not sure about...

I actually proposed it several months ago, but never got any feedback. Sad, that.

Anyway, yes, we don't know when older toons were released, exactly, but that's not an argument against dating things that we are certain of, and coming up with approximate dates for the rest.

I was thinking the same thing a while ago. So far, 29/29 have said "yes".

I'm a little on both sides. For the new toons, yes. But we can't get every release date for the old toons, it would be too hard.

Definitely do it for the ones that are new. Why not? If the dates of older ones are lost, it's no disaster. I know that it would have been helpful to me to have the dates when I first found H*R.com, because to understand some of the site's self-references you really need to see the toons and stuff in order.

wait don't they do that on the mainpage? or do you mean list them with the toon, once they've gone off the 'recent' part..if so, then yeah, i think it'd be good for referencing...not sure how many people need to know when a specific toon was released, but hey, whatever works for them..
