We need to come up with some rules for wiki decision polls. I'm going to let this thread go for a few days and I would like everyone's feedback on what kind of rules we should have for WikiPolls.

So far, the admins have pretty much decided to let polls run for 10 days. If you have objections to this, let us know below and try to give good reasons.

If you can think of any other important rules for polls, let us know.

This thread will be removed when the final rules are decided upon and posted.

Ten days sounds fine.

I think it should depend on the matter at hand. For minor stuff regarding Wiki structure, where a decision needs to be made, ten days should be fine.

But disagreements with wiki content, like "In Strong Bad Email such-and-such, did so-and-so say 'this' or 'this'", or "how should we format this page", even issues with the rejects page, ten days probably isn't long enough. If enough wiki users don't notice the poll and don't vote on the issue, then you could have an unfair decision based on an unbalanced survey of wiki users' opinions.

Also, general opinion polls - "Which HSR character is your favorite", "what did you think about this weeks' SB email" I believe should be open indefinitely.

Just my two cents.

7 is good, not too long but not too short.

I think it should be about 18 days.

I think it should be ten days. That's plenty of time to decide on things.

Okay, 10 days it is. Not that we really needed to be discussing this anymore anyway. Holy necromancy, Batman.

Er, yeah, we really don't use these "Wiki Decision Polls" for anything anymore.

Wiki matters are pretty much decided through discussion on the Wiki.
