The last round was neck-and-neck right up until the very end, where FDR defeated all of his opponents with a single vertical punch. Eisenhower, sadly, did not win, but the rumors say that he'll be back for the sequel.

Now we must decide once again the Best President out of this grouping. We're nearing the end. There's one more semi-round here, and I need some ideas to fill in the last one. I'm thinking Joshua Norton and Stephen Colbert to fill in the two open spaces. Or maybe I'll be official and not fill 'em in at all. You decide.

Previous Winners:
George Washington (#1)
Martin Van Buren (#8)
James K. Polk (#11)
Abraham Lincoln (#16)
Grover Cleveland II (#24)
Theodore Roosevelt (#26)
Franklin D. Roosevelt (#32)

Tricky Dick or Ronnie? Hmm.

Ronald Reagan. Seriously, I think he's the greatest president since Abraham.

Reagan all the way.

As for the two empty spots: Huckabee and Colbert.

I'm fine with Stephen Tiberius Colbert but Huckabee's a little too meh. I need pazazz.

For the unenlightened: Emperor Joshua Abraham Norton was the self declared emperor of the U.S. when Lincoln was president. He was based around San Francisco, I think. Died when he collapsed in the street. Was followed by Her Royal Majesty, Empress of San Francisco, Jose I, The Widow Norton, a drag queen named Jose Sarria.

Well, Nixon's certainly the funniest president, but he was also an evil bastard.

Gonna have to bandwagon and vote Reagan. No one else is significant enough.

Colbert and Dan Quayle. Or we could skip the next poll completely, because the winner would be pretty obvious with only the remaining three.

I voted for Reagan, as he is the only president here who isn't a lame duck and has more morals than a duck.

Jimmy Carter was a pretty decent and upstanding guy. He just wasn't really a strong leader. I think it might have been more disgust with Nixon and Ford that got Carter elected to office, but I don't remember.

Anyway, Reagan. Hands down. Trickle-Down Economics and the fall of the Soviet Empire FTW!

I decided to be official with the penultimate round and I'm just gonna go with three. Then I'll do a bonus round, with Emperor Norton, Sarria, Colbert, Democratic Minority, and Republican White Man. If anybody has any ideas to replace those last two (not Huckabee) just bring them to me.

How can you not remember that? You were the only one of us that was old enough to remember(or alive).

As for Reagan, let me set one thing straight, he had very little to do in fall of the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was well into a decline by the Reagan took over. Afghanistan and Solidarity did them in before Ronnie took the oath of office. They were broke and they were just about down for the count.

Then there is Reganomics a system that worked so well it took Clinton the majority of his first term to fix what was left over by Reagan and Bush 41. Plus I have a problem with seemingly campy fixation that conservatives have with him. I think the reason Reagan has an airport named after him is so that conservatives can say upon final approach, "I'm coming into Reagan."

As for me, I choose Ford. He came into office after the worst political scandal in American history and calmed us down and brought some order back to the White House. It's unfortuante that he was not able to get reelected for a full term, but he did make the most out of the time he had. Plus he was the subject of one of the best SNL skits of all time.

He wants you to be in the poll. Got the final standings, though.

It'll be Emperor Joshua Norton, Jose Sarria, Thomas E. Dewy, Johnathan Stuart Lebowitz, and Stephen Tyrone Colbert in the Bonus Round, probably.

And Ronnie wins! Off to the last preliminary....

I voted for Reagen. After all, he was the one that karate chopped the Berlin wall down.
