"Ratatouille" is one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen. You really have to see it in the theatre to enjoy it, especially the visuals. And it's such a good story with a good message--anyone can experience fine cooking.

I think the rats are a metaphor for the general American population; we're getting fat on crappy food and the French have the best food in the world.

I think my expectations for Ratatouille were just high, because I have come to expect much from Pixar. As usual, it had the theme of the Quest for Identity (both from the rat and from that kid), and it had lots of great - how to put this right - chef references. You know, the kind of stuff you'd learn about watching Food Network.

I especially love the way they portrayed the concept of "comfort food."

Meanwhile, watching a Dreamworks film is like taking a bath in a pool of acid.

I'm actually looking at internships at Pixar, best rule 6'ing place to work IN AMERICA!

Yes. It was an actual cheese store. It was on some show on Food Network.

In Dramwark's defense, I rather liked Prince of Egypt when it came out.

It's a 2D animated movie retelling of Exodus. It came out in 1998 I think. It was pretty cool, but then I like anything with ancient Egyptian stuff in it.

I'm only counting the computer animated films, and not counting aardman's stuff.

Bee Movie: 54

Pixar just kicks Dreamworks' trash all over the place. Dreamworks started off pretty strong, but it's just been garbage since then.

Aardman isn't really Dreamworks so much. They are to Dreamworks as Pixar *used* to be for Disney. They had a contract for distribution, but they are independent companies.

Right, I was talking about the attitude itself, not the one expressed by the movie.

And of course no culture is totally superior. It's just that some have the philosophy that they are.

So it basically comes down to good storytelling and family-friendly content vs. irreverent humor and random pop culture references. Pixar all the way.
