As I have explained a few times before, my name comes from the Video Game/Anime series, Gungrave. It's the name of the main character.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that we have a thread about this. Something about telling us about the origin of your username.

Well this has a poll, so there is a difference to that one.

Yeah, but it's still basically the same thing.

I voted something random/cool. In this case, random. And you should probably put an "other" option.

The origins of The Hhfov are a dark one: full of mystery, intrigue, and suspense.

One day, The Hhfov was walking home from the market (where he had exchanged his left hand for a monkey's left hand). He came upon a peculiar looking object; a talisman, if you will.

Curious, The Hhfov, in all of his wisdom, decided to inspect this item. If it was of use to his researches, he would treasure it. If it was merely a clever ruse, he would abandon it as such.

What were the characteristics of this talisman of power, you ask?

A glowing red ankh lay on the front, mysterious, beckoning, simply asking for inquiry. It glowed a bright luminescent green, the color of the sky, if the sky was a bright luminescent green.

A handle existed on the front as well, humble but kind. When opened, it held a tablet of magnificence. On the back were the legendary words.

H.
H.
Fov.
"My, that's an interesting name!" remarked Hhfov, surprised.

Thusly, the name of Hhfov exists as you know it today.
Nah, it's an H*R reference, naturally.

Well, I couldn't think of anything, and I thought my normal handle of "Violence" would be kinda weird for this forum.....so I chose this "hilarious" username.

"Hilarious" is in quotation marks for a reason, you'll notice.

Big fan of ska music, particularly the Coventry Sound, better known as 2-Tone. Specials, Selecter, Beat, and Madness ftw.

I voted: "A nickname from real life". I won't bore you with how it actually worked out, as I've already explained it. So tough luck!

I voted Random Words Thown Together.
It's actually more of a word I made up.
But, that was the closest thing.

I was trying to come up with a stereotypical Native American name for myself that could provide me with a RL nickname or pseudoname (it's nym!!)--because I don't like my real name--and they usually go [adjective][animal], like "Stalking Wolf". You know, stereotypically. I grew up with cats, so it was gonna be feline. Then I realized that Hobbes from C&H is like an ideal role model, so it should probably be a tiger. I couldn't think of a good adjective until I noticed that my martial arts uniform was black and my belt orange (I need to start doing that stuff again...), which is the opposite ("inverse") of black stripes on an orange background, and a generally awesome color combination (& especially common this time of year, yay!). Plus, "inverse" has a vaguely nerdish sound that makes it perfect. So I figure that out and a couple days later join the forum. I still haven't figured out how to make a different RL name out of it though... unless I take the Tiger->Tigre->Tig->Teeg->Teeg Dougland route, & I'm not THAT much of a H*R fanboy :p

I play up the tiger thing a lot, but I'm not a tiger-furry. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Looks like I've got some bad news, boys..

Old old inside joke that I don't even really remember anymore. My other SN, La Diable, is a real life nickname/inside joke as well.

My username originates from The Simpsons, specifically, the episode "In Marge We Trust".

JD was my nickname for a while, but in the lackey email, Strong Bad said something about Occasional JD. So I up and made this username. Huzzah.

My name's an inside joke.

A couple of people at my old, tiny forum liked to say "Coo". Another person showed up who liked to say "Shweet". Having nothing better to do, they began a war over which word was better. After a few threads consisting of each word being written in large coloured fonts, they reached a compromise, and went around saying "Shwoo". Then we all put it in our sigs.

I chose the name because that forum has sentimetal value, and it's not fandom specific.

I never get tired of telling that story.

Mine's a vague HR reference. If you don't know, then you are made of fail and lose.

Character of mine.

I don't use the char very much, but the name's nice and androgynous, so I can fool people into thinking I'm a DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE.

Oops, just gave it away.

My old DJ name was DJ Baka. On one forum, I used that name, and later got banned. So I made a worse variation, MC Otaku, instead. I like hip-hop and anime, hence the name. Duh.
