So, what's the best punctuation mark? I like the hyphen. I use it a lot in all of my writing, and I find it the most useful. After that, I'd probably say the semicolon, parentheses or backslash (For some reason, any time I write a slash by hand, I always write a backslash. I did it for so long without realizing, and now it just looks better)

EDIT: Hm, not sure why or how I wrote apostrophe twice in the same choice. It should just be one.

This is so wierd, in digital graphics, we had to make a top 10 list, and I did my top 10 favorite punctuation marks, I put the exclamation point on top. (hyphen was second)

Oh, look who's trying to steal my award for the second year in a row!!! Well, well, well, I see you have made your poll. Good, but it is no match for what I have in store this year.

BTW, I chose semicolon; it's the greatest. All the power of a period plus the portability of a comma.
EDIT: Whoa, that interrobang is pretty cool.

*tries to think of a poll...*
*falls asleep*

I voted for the <, because it gets you out of the dungeon.

The irony mark (؟ ) is also cool, and the guillemets ( « » ) come in a close third because of their funny name.

Dangit, I forgot that one! I knew I was missing a good one.

I think those guillemet things are like Spanish quotation marks or something...

Semicolons are my personal favorite; I would insert something in the latter part of the sentence, but I think that I've proved my point.

I like the comma myself... it allows me to speak in one, long, incredibly unbroken sentence, moving from topic to topic, so that no one has a chance to interrupt me... it's really quite hypnotic.

However, while the comma has its perks, for sure, you must consider, for a moment, the other, less comma-voluted, and less pun-filled, options.

I chose the colon. Just because I like how it's used sometimes in sentences.

Dang. I already voted for the hyphen, but I totally forgot about the ellipsis

...

I use those a lot. Ah, well.

I like the comma. It helps prevent writing for rambling and running together and becoming completely unreadable... A lot like that last sentence. The biggest problem I find with most student writing is a simple lack of commas, turning ordinary, and possibly very good, essays into Run-On-O-Topia.

Ellipsis

Sorry, had to.

Anywhay, I say my favourite punctuation would be the quotation mark, because:
1. I enjoy using it a lot, and
2. It's the only punctuation mark that can be used in real live. Like when you do the thing with your hands.

My least favourite however would be the semicolon because I never know when to use it or what it's for, and the darn spell check on Word always tells me to use it.
*anger*

Geez, the interrobang looks like how my should've-been-a-doctor social studies teacher drew question marks.

Interrobangs are awesome... But I really like the semicolon. My English teacher taught us about punctuation like that, and let's just say that her representations were... unique.... (I probably use parentheses the most, but they get messy)

Well... If you want... She thought of the sentence parts as bullies at an elementery school that are always fighting. Commas are not strong enough to hold them apart... They need the help of a conjunction. Semicolons, on the other hand, could. I'll always remember the semicolons because whenever she wanted to show us how they hold sentence parts apart, she would hold her arms apart and go "whumph!" She did this about fifteen times until we understood. Semicolons rock. WHUMPH!
