I've been chewing gum a lot more than usual lately, so I wondered why you chew. I personally do it because it gives me something to really chew, and that relieves stress for me. What about YOU? |

I don't chew gum very often, but when I do, it's for the taste. I can't blwo bubbles, anyways. (I might be able to now, actually. Haven't tried) |

I picked Other--there are pretty much two reasons why I would chew gum (which I do, but only on rare occassions): it tastes good and it exercises my jaw muscles, which feels good to me. |

Because it tastes good. It's like a guilt-free snack you can eat for a long time! XD |

I don't chew gum. If I do, I tend to get addicted really fast.

I chew no gum. Mostly because I don't like this mushy blob of flavor in my mouth and having no place to put it. Secondly because it's not allowed most places where I go.\ Does this make me a nerd? |

I chew the mint gum only. Though I am OCD about it. I always have to have some with me, at all times. |

When I chew gum, it gets addicting. Especially if I have Big League Chew. That crap's good. Unless its the purple kind (not grape, I think its cotton candy...) |

Studies show that cinnamon flavored chewing gum can enhance your memory temporarily. During the study, people chewing cinnamon gum during the test generally scored higher than people who didnt. That, and IT TASTES GOOD! |

Sounds odd, but if it's true, awesome. I'm a bit skeptical, though - did the participants choose the flavor? If so, maybe there's a cause and effect mix-up - people with a better memory like cinamin gum more. (Which is just as odd, actually). |

Several reasons: It tastes good, I like chewing it, I blow bubbles, I sometimes accidentally chew if I don't have something in my mouth, which results in much pain. |

Take out the mind part, and you have me. No gum, and I get a little... twitchy. |

But it just so happens that you arent allowed to bring a cinnamon scented candle to your final exams, so gum is the preffered method.

And I'll have to practice chewing it discretely. I've never been able to do that. |

Funnily enough, since the end of elementary school, I never had a teacher who would get mad at you for chewing gum in class. In fact, some of my high school teachers seemed to encourage it, just so long as we didn't eat in class. |

My teachers only cared up until last year. Now I can chew it whenever I want. The only class I can't is in math, and sometimes in choir. |

I only chew the minty flavoured stuff to keep my breath nice and fresh. I don't like the grape and other flavours bubble gum. Sickening. |

The only reason some of my teachers care is because jerks always stick chewed gum to the table or floor. There's a trash can five steps away! |

Me, I can't chew gum without blowing bubbles. Even if it's not bubble gum and not explicitly made for bubbles. |

I am always chewing gum, school, home, everywhere. When I don't have gum I go into withdrawl. Anyways I mostly chew to give me something to do. But I hate it when people smack their gum, it is so nasty. Or if they take their gum out, look at it, than put it back, those people need to [s]die[/s] stop it. |

Did he sell eggs? wrote: I don't get why they don't usually alow it in school. Myabe it might distract people... Usually because the kids like to stick the gum under the desks, making it hard to clean them off. That, and the distraction thing too.

![]() Could be weirder. In Japan, Pepto-Bismol has its own ice cream flavor. I don't think it helps your stomach any, it just tastes like Pepto-Bismol. I know that'd not quite gum, but it seems related to me. XD My favorite gum ever has to be berry-flavored Trident. Oh my goodness, SO good. It's even better than Bubblemint Orbit, which I usually chew, but I can't seem to find it in big packs like I can with Orbit... |
