My question is: Do you own your own computer, separate from your family's computer? Since I'm college and don't live with my family most of the time, it's kind of necessary for me to own my own computer. So I'm in that group.

Well, I'm the only person in my family who uses the computer I'm msot often on, except when my mom's away on business, as my sister uses it then, too. Ut's technically not my computer, so I'll vote other. |

Though I use the compt he most, it's not mine. My family owns like four desktop computers and a laptop. But none are in my name. And they're all kinda crappy. |

My own 'puter, which I've upgraded a couple times with some sweet hardware. It definately pwns the rest of the computers in the household. |

I bought my own laptop after I'd had a job for six months. My dad paid for a bit of it, but it's all mine. So yeah, I do own my own computer. |

I have an old windows 98 in my room that doesn't have internet and you can't install anything on it, but I might be getting my dad's supercomputer soon because he needs to upgrade.

I myself don't own one, no. I'm searching for one of those old Apple personal computers on eBay, though. Shut up.

I used to rent an Acer tablet laptop...but I just inherited my uncle's 2003 iBook (he died in '04), so now the iBook is my laptop. |

I have one without internet access which I don't use. It's going to my brother, because I'm getting a laptop in a couple of days. |

I've got a decent eMac. My old tech teacher got a new computer and she gave me her old one. So far, I don't have any big plans for it aside from internet acess and perhaps installing Le Battle for Wesnoth. I hope to get a job eventually and build my own computer, but I'm content with mine for now. |

I own my own computer, but it's not a Compy. It's a Lappy baby! Yep. I saved up a pantload of money of last summer break, and I managed to pick up my own MacBook Pro laptop, and MAN is it sweet. Say what you want about Macs, but I like them. (Actually, don't say what you want, I don't want to spark another Mac vs. PC battle. )
Here's a pic:
I've changed my desk layout since the time this picture was taken, but you get the idea. |

I wish I had my own, but I don't. However, I'm thinking of bringing the old Tandy 1000 back into the house little by little. I got the keyboard/tower and B drive in today, and put it under my desk. Next, I'll try to find the programs. No doubt that this cold snap killed all of them, but who knows? And finally, the monitor. Or at least something that can hook up to the TV. But I doubt that was invented in the mid-80's to today. Printers, I might leave out, but I could bring one in. Maybe the secondary printer, since that's the only one that worked for me. Of course, once my parents find out that the computer mysteriously appeared in my room, they'll either take it back there or throw it away or scream at me asking why I didn't decide to own it when dad decided to throw it in the garage. The only thing I'll work on is to actually get it working again. It kept whitescreening at startup and didn't make the clicks and buzzes before it was chucked into the garage in December '03. In short, other. |

Man, ages ago, my family had this really OLD computer. It was so old it read data off CARTRIGES, yet it was still some sort of PC. I have no idea what make it was or how old it was, but it was kinda fun. |

And a question: Wait, did you mean "eMac," or was that a typo? Was there actually a Mac with a lowercase "e" instead of a lowercase "i?" |

I think it was supposed to be for schools 'n' such. |

All I remember in terms of Macs and schools was the old computer lab at my elementary school and playing Oregon Trail. But it was so long ago, I have no idea what make of Mac those were. |

Yes, it is "eMac", and I would agree that it's made for schools, considering how that's where I got it from. As for performance, meh, it's alright. |

I used to have an old PC that had no Internet connection, but I didn't like it. It ran very slowly, and it was no good for writing or homework. I couldn't even read burned CD's well! I had a couple of games on it, though... |
