There are a lot of smart people in the world. There are a lot of average people in the world. And there are a lot of people in the world who just don't understand concepts so well.

To me, I think that the American public school standards keep lowering just to not hurt the feelings of those who are more and more average/below average. A "C" used to mean "Average," and there was no shame in that...now it feels like anything less than a B+ makes you "stupid" or "below average." So if you're like me and you feel that you don't wholly trust your scholastic grading system, then do it yourself here! What grade, overall (since we're ALL better in certain subjects than others), would you give yourself?

Me, I'm about a B+...I got a LOT of As and Bs all throughout school, but seeing the number of true geniuses in the world, it humbles me and makes me feel that many of those As were not deserved. However, I still feel confident in much of my scholastic prowess, and so I may be no uber-genius, but I'm still pretty decent.

I'd say about an A-. At least I give a crap about school. ;)

Yeah, I'm a prooty smart person but my grades don't really show it because, frankly, the work is boring, stupid, and has no use to me. I do really good on tests, that is the only thing redeeming my grades.

And I hate those pricks that talk down to you and think your retarded if you aren't making an A+. Like, just yesterday we got our report cards and this kid was "BLARG! I TOLD MY TEACHER TO CURVE MY GRADE! I'M STILL MAKING A 93 BUT I WANT…MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!!"
^Actual quote

So I don't really put much stock in the school grading system, because it often doesn't prove anything, how else is the kid in chemistry that isn't awake for more than 2 minutes a class period making a 91 or something?

EDIT:Crap, meant to vote B+, not B

Heh, I'm always amazed at what I can turn in and get an A on. Thrown together utter BS gets an A+. For this one prof, in Eastern Thought, none of my reports had anything really to do with Eastern Thought. Two of them were on Calvin and Hobbes fer cryin out loud. It makes me wonder what everyone else is turning in. But the standardized type tests with percentiles don't lie. I know exactly where I am with respect to everyone else at my level of education. Knowing myself and how much I don't know, that actually makes me really sad.

If this was about more than just school stuff, there'd be plenty of things I'd give myself lower grades on. Physical Fitness: D (against the ideal) B- (against other people); Social Skills: D; Industriousness: D; Coming Across as a Stuck Up Brain in the First Paragraph of This Post: A.

About an "A". I get mostly A's, I think I got one "B+" last year. And then, I'm a tactician, so I bring it up to an even A.

I think I go to a fairly tough school and I still manage to get straight As (save the two B+'s last year in the first quarter. Still cool though). Standardized tests rank me awfully high, too. So, I voted A. A for arrogance :p

I'd say an A-. I do well in most of my subjects and get As, but I tend to slip up in a few.

I figured that within the grade of F, F+ and F- become rather moot points...I mean, how can you be better or worse at failing?

I would like to test your little hypothesis there. In regards to myself, I'm probably a not all together idiot, it's just that I'm really unmotivated.

I think I'm an A-. Right now, I actually feel like a C- or something, but after some thought, I find that I am educated and I know at least a sense of what I want to do for a career. I just feel like I'm way too scared, lacking of a social life, and indesicive to actually be able to do any better than this.

I voted A-

It really depends on the class, really. I usually do really well in English and History because apparently I'm a stellar writer, but I usually slip up on tests. And in math and occasionally science, I don't understand the material and do poorly and usually make a miraculous comeback for an A-. And Spanish I either get a C or an A+, and that usually balances out to somewhere around a B+ or A-.

Well, I voted A, although I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the school I'm at. For example, I probably goof off more then anyone else in my class (I make alot of cootie catchers and paper chains) yet I'm still on the honor roll. So, my answer based only on my personal experience probably isn't that reliable.

At least you beat me. I know I'm smart, but I don't really want the standard white collar 9-to-5 job that's required with intelligence.
