If you are at a concert, is it ok to wear a shirt for a band not performing at the concert? IMHO, it depends the bands. If it were a Bare Naked Ladies shirt at a They Might Be Giants concert, you’ll fit in. If you wear a Dixie Chicks shirt at a Nine Inch Nails concert, you’re going to stick out. So I guess I’ll say maybe. |

Depends if the bands in question are similar genres. Like I would wear a Blue Man Group shirt to Daft Punk, but I wouldn't really wear a POD shirt to David Crowder Band. |

Just don't wear a Dixie Chicks shirt to a country concert. Or a campaign rally. You can wear Dixie Chicks at Taranchula, now that the Chicks are singing death metal. |

If you're sitting around your friends, that would be fine. But if you're sitting next to a bunch of strangers, or near the front row where the singer can see you, then probably no. If you want to be on the safe side, where a fleece covering part of your shirt. |

Yeah, I'd say so, as long as the bands are similar in style. |

This thread makes me want to wear a beach boys t-shirt to a Marilyn Manson concert. Hopefully, I could escape in a helicopter. |

Try doing the opposite.

It depends actually. Because if you go to a local rock band performance and wear an AC/DC or Zeppelin shirt, then it's great. And if you live 30 years in the past and wear a local rock band shirt to an AC/DC or Zeppelin concert, then that's okay too. But if you wear a shirt of an artist that the performers have a grudge against, like wearing an Angels and Airwaves shirt to a +44 concert, then it becomes bad. |

I'm gonna say no on this one. I mean come one, if you paid to see a specific band play in concert, it just wouldn't make sense to wear a shirt plugging a different band! I'm not saying that whoever finds it socially acceptable should be kicked out of the concert, I'm just saying that you should respect the band that's putting on the show for you. People that wear different band shirts at concerts just look like jokes to me. They look like people who are just going to the concert to say they went. We had a huge Rolling Stones concert here a couple of months ago, and I would say a majority of the people who went could barely name three the band's songs. It was a sad, sad day. But that's just me. I mean no disrespect to any of you. |

i say no, because if you pay to see a band in person, why would you represent the not preforming band? just go to their concert. |

Wearing the shirt of the band that is playing is completely lame, unless you bought the shirt at the show. Don't be a loser |

So what? Who cares if you "stick out" at a concert? The dozens of people who you'll never see again? Wear what you want. The only thing I would worry about with regard to concert apparel is a) rubbing the band themselves the wrong way, and b) getting in a fight with ornery concertgoers. If you wear a "BUSH SUX" shirt to a Toby Keith concert, you're going to get a pummeling. But you would deserve a pummeling for going to a Toby Keith concert in the first place. Huh? People sit down at concerts? I say if your legs don't hurt after a concert, you should have stayed home. The mark of a successful concert experience is a wide variety of aches, pains, and bruises, a completely trashed voice, and a hardcore case of tinnitus. |

Except for this Weird Al concert I just went to. It was in a theatre for god's sake, we couldn't stand up, it felt... disrespectful. |

Well, I wore an Alice Cooper shirt to a Roger Hodgson concert and no seemed to mind. I think it depends on the crowd; for example, if you wore a Bob Dylan shirt to a rap concert, you might get some attention. InterruptorJones wrote: Huh? People sit down at concerts? Very ture. I once came home from a Rolling Stones concert soaked from the rain, unable to walk from standing up for 10 hours (opening acts started at 4 o'clock, we got there at 1 o'clock, The Stones got on at 9 o'clock), starved from not eating and couldn't swallow from yelling so much and it only improved my experience. |

At Warped Tour, it's unethical to wear a shirt of a band playing. It makes you seem like you're there just for that band. And that's evil. |

I am totally going to warped tour. It's got The Matches, I Am Ghost, and Coheed and Cambria. They also would have Underoath, but they're not playing where I am. Beside the point. Either way, I think it actually boosts how good you look at a concert. Especially if it's a classic rock band. It just shows that you love music and if you love music and you like the band enough to see their show, then they must be good. |

Exactly, I'm going to Megadeth in July and it would be terrible to wear a Metallica shirt to it. I think I'll buy an AC/DC Tee for it. |

As long as the shirt has a band with talent and half-good music, I'm fine with it. |

I rarely go to see bands, so I don't own band tshirts anyway. Usually I just play it safe and wear something with no design, or an Autobot symbol, which has never failed yet. |
