Pinball. The other games are card games or something not worth playing, while Pinball has some level of excitement. |

Minesweeper is absolutely not luck. Except on some of the custom boards, where it's harder to find the squares that are definitely a mine. Anyway, I made this image a while ago to show that it's not luck. The red parts are the squares that are definitely mines, and the black parts are the clickable parts. Which are definitely not mines after step two.
The numbers mean how many mines are touching the square with the number. If there's a number 1 and only one square is touching it, then there must be a mine under that square, so you flag it. If there's a number 1, two squares are touching it and you know one of them is a mine, then the other one can't be a mine, so you click on it to uncover it. |

I never knew all of this because I played this game about...8 years ago when I had a PC. Then I switched to Mac, and never played that game ever again, because pinball was more fun to occupy myself when I was near a PC. |

There's plenty of Minesweeper clones that will run on OS X, by the way, and plenty more web-based versions. Try the popular search engine Google. |

Are there guys like that? I assume. There's gotta be. |

I've grown out of the designed levels, so I do my own custom level--150 mines on the maximum grid size (24x30)...I usually get it all done in about 4-5 minutes. |

Where's Chip's Challenge? I mean, c'mon. Show some respect! |

Chip's Challenge doesn't come with Windows and these games do, I think. I wish Chip's Challenge came with Windows. Would've saved me a lot of longing when I was little. |

Ah, so the trick is not to sit there and flag every mine and to actually know how to use the 9-squares-at-once click thing. Eenterestink. |

All I can say is....wow. I'm not surprised that there are people who can do that, but I'm surprised that these people have time to do anything but minesweeper, such as HSR. |

Where's the Freecell love? It's completely addictive, and pretty much every game can be won. Once you've been playing for a while, you get to where you can beat most of them first try. oh, and SkiFree32 is the best. |

Skifree was built in windows?!? Then Ski free all the way. I used to play that game all the time, going down the slopes, and crashing into everything, and jumping off the ramps, and at the end, a yeti/monster quickly comes out and eats you. Like, at an impossible speed of 2 seconds, he runs on screen and eats you. And then he does a dance. I just don't liked how none of the skiiers you crash into fall...or did they? |

They most certainly did. You can see for yourself, just download the game from the author's site. |

Ah. I also remember Chips challenge and Jezball. Man, what great games. I used to calibrate the colors to black and white in Chips Challenge, which scared my cousins and I out of the room. I...don't know why, though. It just did. I was 4. Jezzball was another great game. I didn't get very far, but man what a classic. I even remember last year downloading the one for the TI-84 calculator, along with a crappy Mario remake, some vertical shooter, and a puzzle game pack. |

Oh, man. Jezzball was so cool. I actually was able to grasp reflections in geomerty because of that game! Well, not really. Sort of. It was good practice though. I tried soo....hard....to get past that Yeti. One day, I'll hit the last jump just right--and I'll be free! I bet there's something awesome at the bottom of the hill... |

Jezzball and SkiFree are great games that I must've wasted a lot of time playing. I had a strategy for getting the highest possible score every time on Jezzball, and the Yeti in SkiFree scared me. I've started playing FreeCell, and it's pretty fun. I still like Minesweeper better, though. Tetris. |

What they said... Except I'm not addicted and I don't have brother and I don't and didn't play classic computer games that much. But, pinball's cool. |

Call me a heathen, but I've never really liked any of the games that came with Windows. By the time I started owning my own computers, I made sure to have a copy of an NES emulator and a selection of Mega Man and Mario games, all on a single 3.5 floppy. |
