The first three, but mostly the top one.

I edit it, read it for fun. pointless lists, like non-robot Futurama characters.

A and B all the time, C occasionally.

Also, there's absolutely nothing shameful about using Wikipedia for research. It's hands down the best way to get a good overview of an incredibly wide variety of subjects and get links to librarian-approved(TM) sources.

I'm not in the paper-writing business these days, so I don't do the kind of research that involves citations, but I do use it plenty for work ("What year did the first version of Netscape come out, anyway?" "1994, silly rabbit."), and of course for fun. I do 10-15 Wikipedia searches every day, and usually hit quite a few links in the process. Yesterday I had a fun thought process that went Lapin Agile* > Lapis lazuli > Lazarus Long. Now I'm reading about Lupus.

...I love Wikipedia.

*Because a friend of mine is in a play called Picasso at the Lapin Agile.

Well, I meant using it as a source for school papers, or anything where accuracy matters. Wikipedia is usually right, but not worth the risk of it being wrong.

I didn't say you should use Wikipedia itself as a source--that's dumb--but Wikipedia is a great place to find legitimate academic sources. Most Wikipedia articles these days (unlike a year or two ago) have citations, and citations equal links to excellent resources. Think of Wikipedia not as a source itself, but a meta-source... like a search engine for finding real sources for your paper. For that purpose I can't think of a better web site, and it's a whole lot easier to use then LexisNexis.

I do all four equally. The poll is flawed.

I'll occasionally add references to random stuff.

I edit a lot, but in reality it's the first three answers. I will never defile the sacred pages of Wikipedia.

The first three. I would NEVER vandalize Wikpedia. Jimmy Wales himself would hunt me down & stab me if I did.

I both edit it and read it for curiosity! So... which one do I pick?

When ever I don't know something, and I want to look it up for general information, where do I go? [s]GHOSTBUSTERS[/s] WIKIPEDIA!

Like I'm on the internet, and I want to know more about "Night of the Living Dead" (after watching last weeks new South Park), and I get a full page of that movie, and more information about George Romero's other movies.

Very convenient. It's my first headline bookmark.

But my school is very prejudiced against it. My dad thinks it's Bull.

I just say it's the place you go to find out about one thing that's wide enough. Specific stuff...eh, I once used it to find Issac Newtons Birthday, and it was wrong.

No dates. That's a no-no to search on Wikipedia.

---
I don't edit Wikipedia. I'm always afraid I'll be wrong. That's the reason I didn't join the knowledge base immediately after I knew about it.

Even for vandalism. People revert so quick that there's probably 1,000 people about to revert the same page.

Curiosity is the reason for me. I like looking at info about games, movies, tv shows and games.

Wikipedia is great for "pop culture" stuff. I was watched Smallville one day and got the urge to look up Martian Manhunter. My mom was so surprised that they had an article for that--before I showed her that basically anything ever on TV or the internet is on Wikipedia.

EDIT: And who voted for Vandalism?

Same here.

I edit occasionally, but it's not why I go there. (I usually just fix spelling and grammar and stuff.) I did a lot of work on the old Bonus Stage article, though. Completely overhauled it. Then they KILLED IT ARGH.

Mainly for curiosity, but also for research. That is, if my teachers find it a reliable source or not.

Some of my teachers do - my biology teacher, who seems pretty particular about sources, has given us some printouts from it.

I read it for fun sometimes, but I mainly use it for schoolwork. I don't have to look up very complex stuff (Coulomb's Law or Beowulf or something like that) so I find it reliable enough.

Wikipedia is becoming a more reliable source. It is extremely difficult to get a page made w/o accurate citation. I bet my English teacher that he couldn't make a fake page on Wikipedia, if I won I get to use it as a source, if he won I'd write an extra essay.

I used my Wikipedia
