Post subject:  Your favorite Homestar Halloween costume? Part One

In honor of what happened in Halloween Awards Show (one of the bonus features on the Everything Else, Part 2 DVD), which explained who won the award for best Halloween costume of 2001 (AKA The House That Gave Sucky Treats), which, in case you don't know, was Strong Bad as Carmen Sandiego, I have decided to create a nifty little series of threads all on what you think the best costume of the different Halloween toons is (courtesy of the ol' reliable polls). Each thread will be of a different Halloween costume poll (i.e., one thread on Pumpkin Carve-nival costumes, another on Halloween Potion-ma-jig costumes, and so on and on).

Now I'm going to arrange things chronologically. This means that the best costume of Homestarloween Party will be the first of the several Halloween costume polls.

Now, with that thought in mind, what is your favorite Halloween costume in Homestarloween Party? Just pick your favorite in the list above. My favorite, BTW, is SB as Carmen (freakin') Miranda.

Now, I know a similar contest exists (http://forum.hrwiki.org/viewtopic.php?t=10046), but that to me is a bit confusing as to what is best and it covers all the toons as a whole. Here, each toon has its own thread, going in chronological order. So let the voting begin!

Oh, and before I forget, feel free to add comments.

Y'know, this is a pretty good idea. I voted for the poopsmith in this one.
Oh, and by the way, CaptainPastHisPrime is the second funniest superhero name I've ever heard. Right behind the thnikaman

Actually, Captain Past His Prime is what Strong Bad mockingly called The Cheat when the former thought that Sterrance is better than The Cheat and The Cheat angrily told SB off. To which SB replies, "Well, if it isn't Captain Past His Prime himself. Yeah, I know you heard me, and I stand by it."

The eventual goal of these polls (which, if the cards are played right, should come around Halloween, although it should withheld till around mid-November to allow for the aught-seven Halloween toon) is to see what is the ULTIMATE Halloween costume of all time on Homestar Runner!

So, (doing a bad carnival barker accent) c'mon, step right up! Right this way! Don't be shy! Come one, come all! Step right up, ladies and gentleman, and cast your vote for the best Halloween costume in Homestarloween Party.

I'm here! I'm here! And I voted for the King of Town and his Cap'n Crunch costume. Why? Well... he pulled it off really well. He was really recognizable and plus... I love Cap'n Crunch cereal! And the accusations are wrong! It doesn't cut the roof of your mouth!

Lookin' forward to the next poll, CaptainPastHisPrime. ;)

Well, I'll let this one grow a little bit, before I do the next poll. What I plan to do is, add another poll every once in a while, to spread over the period of several months, until approximately October, when the next major Halloween toon should be due, at which point it too will receive a poll like this. And then once all the polls for the eight All Hallow's Eve toons are accounted for (there is no limited time to do this), I will take the top votes from each of the polls and use them in one last poll to determine once and for all what the number one best Halloween costume in the Homestar Runner body of work really is. It's like the Halloween Awards toon (which gave the award for best Halloween costume of 2001; Strong Bad as Carmen Sandiego was the winner, in case you don't know), but on a much bigger scale. So it'll probably be a while before the next poll comes up. And I have a vacation trip coming up, so like I said, it could take a while.

BTW, the Halloween Awards toon is found only on the Everything Else #2 DVD.

Hey, come on, I need some more votes here. And while you're at it, post your opinion on why you chose what you chose, huh?

Gorbachev, of course. Strong Sad had the right head for it.

Hey, I have a question. When I do the best costume poll for Pumpkin Carve-nival, how should we do things with Strong Bad?

Well, maybe how the Brothers Chaps did at the end of the toon:

The Goblin as Strong Bad as The Bee
Strong Bad as Homestar Runner as *whoever it was*
Homestar Runner as *I still can't remember/don't know who it was*

Homestar was Angus Young from the band AC/DC. But that poll won't happen for a while, not till about a month from now at least. First, we have to do the 2001 costumes poll, which will happen around the end of next week. My plan is to place these sporadically over the period of several months, until the 2007 Halloween toon, which will get a poll of its own. Then I'll do a deciding poll, which will decide once and for all what the best Homestar Halloween costume of all time really is. ;)

In the meantime, look for the next poll to occur around the end of next week. Until then, let's get some more votes in, people!

EDIT: Seriously, I need some more posts. Just pick a costume, any costume.

The reason I chose SB as Carmen Miranda is 'cause that whole bit with him is just plain priceless. I just like how he responds to Homestar calling him the Chiquita Banana Lady: "For the last time, I'm Carmen freakin' Miranda!"

Seriously, though, I would like more votes before I put the next poll up next week.

It was a hard choice between Da' Poopsmith and KOT, but I have to go with Poopy on this one. Tron was awsome.

I disagree: having studied the cold war at school, I have a great deal of resect for Gorbachev and, quite frankly, I thought the very idea that someone as dull and whiny as old-version Strong Sad should dress up as Gobachev quite disrespectful to the man himself.
TBC didn't even make him look much like Gorbachev: all they did was stick him in a suite and drew a port wine birthmark on the wrong side of his head. I hate that, in particular: so many people seem to identify the former Russian leader by his birthmark rather than by himself as a leader.

StrongSad was just dressing up as him for Halloween, not portraying him in a play.
