| Post subject: | Your favorite Homestar Halloween costume? Part Five |
Here now is the fifth Homestar Halloween costumes poll, in which you can vote for your favorite Halloween costume of 2004 (AKA Halloween Fairstival). As always, this is actually based on - you guessed it - a bonus found only on the Everything Else Vol. 2 DVD, which explained the winner of best 2001 Halloween costume, which was Strong Bad as Carmen Sandiego. Anyway, it's time for all y'all to do that all over again, only this time with the best Homestar Halloween costume of 2004. It's exactly the same as always. Here's the link for the 2000 costumes poll: The "Homestarloween Party" costumes poll. And here's the link for the 2001 costumes poll: The "The House That Gave Sucky Treats" costumes poll. And HERE is the link for the 2002 costumes poll: The "Pumpkin Carve-nival" costumes poll. AND HERE is the link for the 2003 costumes poll: The "3 Times Halloween Funjob" costumes poll. You can still post votes in those polls, by the way. Now, with that thought in mind, what is your favorite Halloween costume from Halloween Fairstival? Just like last time, simply pick your favorite in the list above. My vote, BTW, goes to Strong Bad as not just the Batman villain The Joker, but Cesar Romero as the Batman villain, The Joker. Romero, a Latin Lothario and entertainment veteran, portrayed The Joker in the old Batman TV show in the 1960s. You probably wouldn't even know whom SB was actually portraying if not for the mustache SB had as part of his costume. Before playing The Joker, it was said that the show producers asked him to shave off his mustache, but Romero refused. So they just applied the make-up over it. Anyway, I voted for the ramblin' wreck of email-check himself as Cesar Romero as The Joker. What's your vote? Oh, and also, now you have to post comments on why you voted for the one you for you voted for in the first place. I'd appreciate it. Happy voting! |

I mean, the Mayor of Halloweentown. He's fat. |

So now it looks like we have a neck-and-necker between Strong Sad's costume and the KOT's costume. Who will win? My money goes to Strong Sad. I hope he wins this round. Actually, I don't really care who wins this round, so long as it's not the KOT for once (no offense, guys). |

I can't decide on this. It's too hard of a choice between my brother Cesar Romero Joker, my wife, Mayor of Halloweentown, and the woman I'm cheating on her with, Bowie. |

Well, which ones do you like best: The old Batman TV show, Nightmare Before Christmas or any movie with Bowie in it (like Jim Henson's "Labyrinth"; my brother-in-law likes that movie)? |

I voted for Strong Bad's costume. He's a masked wrestler dressed as a guy dressed as a clown. What's scarier than that? |

BOWIE You bring up a good point. If David Bowie was elected Mayor of Halloweentown (he's a shoe-in!), I'd vote fer 'em. |

Now it looks like we may have a new contender for the best 2004 costume: Cesar Romero as the Joker, portrayed by the ramblin' wreck of email-check himself, Strong Bad! I wonder how things will turn out here. I really don't care who wins, so long as it's not the KOT. No offense, you fans of his costume; it's just my opinion, to which everyone is entitled. |

Well, as I said before, things are liable to change, but the present-day top winners are: 2000: The King of Town (:kot:) as Cap'n Crunch 2001: Homestar Runner (:hr:) as The Greatest American Hero 2002: The King of Town (:kot:) as Mario 2003: Stinkoman (:stinko:) as Speed Racer 2004: Strong Sad () as David Bowie Now like I said, things may or may not change between now and the time of the final poll, which will happen in either November or December. |

Well, it wasn't so much the bumping as just the heads-up to let you know. I didn't want to keep you guys in the dark on this. The fact that this was bumped was just an unfortunate side effect. In fact, for a time, I even let this thread go until it was time for the next poll. I had learned a lesson about not constantly adding to a thread just to keep it alive, such as to constantly remind people to keep voting. I did not do that this time around. I only added to this thread when it was time to announce the new thread, when someone made a comment and I decided to agree or when I just decided to make a comment that was in step with the theme of the thread. That's why I only bumped this to let people know about the latest Halloween costumes thread. Sorry. I was only bumping to remind people and get hyped up and excited. It's effective like that. Anyway, I hope you're looking forward to the next thread as much as I am. Rest assured, the next time I post here will be to give the link to the new thread. Anyway, I gotta go now; be back later. Peace! |

Casimir III the Great wrote: tl;dr If people don't care about a topic, they don't care about a topic. Bumping it constantly just annoys people. I'm rooting for David Bowie. Well, I sort of know that now, as I said. That's why I'm now only bumping these threads when I need to, not when I want to. As a matter of fact, to prove my point, just look at the thread's posts and sooner or later, you will notice that there is a gap between dates of posts. That's because, for a while, as I said, I let this thread go since I didn't have anything of importance to mention, until it was time for the next poll. Unlike the last several similar threads, I did not constantly bump this one just for the heck of it; only when I had something important to say or even to just respond to someone else's post. And that's what I'm going to do from now on: post in these threads ONLY when I need to (whether it's an announcement or a response to someone else's post), not when I want to. Well, based on the tallies above, it looks like (for the moment, anyway), the ultimate victor this time is David Bowie as portrayed by Strong Sad. Anyway, here it is now, the link to the sixth exciting installment of the Halloween costume poll (from 2005): http://forum.hrwiki.org/viewtopic.php?t=12544. |
