The games are freakin' awesome.

The show was okay. Then the title sequence changed, the voices changed, and everything went to heck.

I don't know anything about Pokemon, other than I was told it's a cheap Digiman ripoff. Whatever Digiman is.

Pokeymans came BEFORE Digimans. So you were told wrong.

The games are still really good. The series is good for cheap laughs because it's not that good.

Digiman's first season is actually really good.

I used to have a bunch of cards, but I gave them to some kid so we could "share" the deck, then he sold it and never got the money.
I hate the new episodes, love the old ones, and have like, seven of the games.

The television show was horrible, a disgrace to anime, I can't believe I used to like it.

I like the games but hate them a little because they used mechanics of Dragon Quest and Earthbound but they have no been success for either of these games outside Japan (except for Dragon Quest VIII) but Pokemon still succeeds.

I liked the first 50 or so pokemons. then I lost interest after the 251st one. I found a bunch of cards covered in dust on my shelf. about 8 of them, reminded me of 2001. I liked that year...

anyway, (most of) the games were cool, the official show, cards, cereal, toilet paper wasn't so..

Actually Digimon came first (In Japan atleast).

Pokemon games are good for the first two months, then there's not much to do so you wait 3 years for the next pair.

They're still popular in fan circles. and they still make them. They dont sell as well as say, magic the gathering, but they still do turn a decent profit.

And according to a local gas station owner, they are the most commonly stolen item.

As what? I read on Wikipedia that Digimon was first created as a handheld game in 1999, and Red and Blue were first released in 1996.

Facepalm is justified, as calling it a "cheap ripoff" is stupid anyway.

^^1997, actually, but yes; Pokémon beats Digimon by a year.

I play Pokémon Pearl every day and I play the cards too. Infernape is totally broken in both!

Everything this guy said is true.

Everything that was around when we were young was good, but then all the new stuff that came when we were older sucks.

Well, the pokemon concept is completely different to digimon. Digital monsters, pocket monsters... The only main similarity is they're both about monsters.
So, the debate is mainly a waste of time.

The games are AWESOME.

And the show has JAMES. If you don't love James, you have no soul.

Also, Mudkips.

wikipedia wrote:
The Digimon franchise has been criticized as being a clone of the more popular Pokémon title, as both properties are aimed at children and feature interaction between humans and fictional monsters. Thematically, though, they bear little in common. A Digimon human counterpart receives only one Digimon (an exception being Willis in which he was given two twin Digimon) while Pokémon trainers can have as many Pokémon as they want provided they have enough Pokéballs. A human will become a DigiDestined if, as the name implies, they are destined to be one (or, as in Digimon Tamers, they share a special bond with a Digimon) while, in Pokémon, a trainer can have any Pokémon he or she wants as long as he/she captures it. Some Digimon video games also center on sportsmanship, but in the anime, Digimon fight to survive or to destroy enemies, as opposed to Pokémon battles where the Pokémon faints instead of dying. In addition, once a Pokémon evolves it has no way to go back to its original state, while a Digimon can.

While both Pokémon and Digimon are wild creatures and display a degree of instinctual behavior, Digimon are anthropomorphized, possessing human speech and individuality. For example, in the Pokémon franchise, a Pokémon only does evil things if their trainer commands them to, while in the Digimon franchise, there are many Digimon that have decided to become evil of their own accord (Devimon, for example). While some Pokémon may show some individuality, it is nothing compared to the range that Digimon exhibit. With exceptions not limited to Team Rocket's Meowth and certain legendary Pokémon (including Mewtwo), all Pokémon can only speak their name (or syllables thereof) and are incapable of normal speech. Trainers are able to understand their Pokémon to some extent; the Pokémon can understand human speech, most notably orders from their trainers.

I prefered the digimon anime to pokemon. I really need Digi Dawn and dusk.... but the poke games pwn all the anime seris. wait, whats the trird game of this gen called?

I am one of the few people that has been with this thing that they call the pokemans since the very get go. I got Red version for the first christmas they were available, and have seen most episodes of the anime not counting much later than half a season after misty left. I shall say that the games rule the house, my Blastoise [Tortank] from my first serious gameplay is STILL around and still out of gum, if you catch my drift. That team never lost =3

The first season of the show was great, the second was gross because of idiot Tracy and the animation style went all weird in a subtle way someone who analyzes animation would notice. Third season was fun, fourth was okay, fifth I noticed that the story was definitely getting worn out (and confusing, especially since we knew that Picachu had to be upwards of level 70 or so, but kept losing for stupid reason). I loved the end of that season, though, as the Jhoto leage kicked some major behind. The Gary vs. Ash episode made me sooooo joyus to watch, not to mention that I not only called Gary's elusive first choice that we never ever saw till then, but also since most of his team were pokey's that i use on a regular basis =3

Then Brock and Misty left, and we got May (who is ten but doesn't look it) and her annoying punk nerd brother. Actually, that brings me a question: how old is Ash? He was my age when this all started out (ten), and he's been out in the bush jobless for ten years now... a few years ago May came in but she too was ten. Ain't no way she and Ash are the same age. Hrm... ah well. Wait, if Ash has aged in realtime (which he hasn't appeared to) then we've got a 20 year old, a 25+ year old (brock's at least five years older than ash) cavorting around the woods with a 10 year old girl and her 3 year old brother. Yeah, that's not suspicious.

I don't play D&P, but only because I am yet to own a DS. Donations are in fact welcome.

(Man, that was some serious Tell What U Thinkage)
