Despite not living in what one would call "Hotland," my district almost never gets snow days because we get enough snow in winter so that the road cleaners and students are acclimated to it. The only occasion for getting off of school is usually extreme cold, and that's only because all of the other schools in the area are closing. In short, I have no idea. |

We do it the opposite - each snow day gets a day added on until we pass 5. |

Never had a snowday, what with living in Houston and all. But in middle school we missed school for a day because our school got hit my lightning and caught on fire or something. But it couldn't have been that big of a deal because we went back to school the day after. |

We've been getting a butt-load of snow days up here in Iowa. We've had double snow days(two snow days in a row)this year. TWICE. |

It snows about once every two years here. I've never had a snow day. Besides, it's summer at the moment. |

Snow... ...day? Whatever do you mean? I've heard of this "snow" stuff, but a whole day devoted to it seems silly... |

In Fairfax, Virginia, we get three snow days every school year. If we exceed that limit, we will usually go to school on the nearest future holiday that we normally get off (otherwise, we add school days to June). There was one year where we got enough snow days to extend school each day an extra 30 minutes, though. That really sucked, but thankfully, I was in elementary school, and we did nothing major during that extra time. |

They usually immediately add on extra days in June is we have snow days. But I only had two snow days in my life since the town's schools get butthurt over having to cancel school. I only got off during this blizzard when I was seven, and just two weeks ago. Needless to say, it would be an act of God if they had to cancel school more than five times, since that's all they want to spend on 'Emergency Days'. |

They used to tell us in primary school that the law made them send home kids if it got over 40 degrees celcius. It got to 50 one time and school went on as normal, we weren't ever allowed inside at lunch to stay cool. That is when I started believing nothing they promised. Needless to say, I live in hotland. |

I would like to take the time to say Snow Days are brilliant and I feel bad for anyone who has not had the privilege of having one. I've had four snow days this year (it should have been 5, long story), and yet I'm currently enjoying a 4-day "snow day make-up day" weekend. |

It's been known to snow here in Canberra every couple of years, and we're not really in the mountains. I can see an nice mountain range from my bedroom window, though. |

In the ancient portables with no air conditioning and quite likely no windows that open. |

School is never ever closed. Schools in my district get paid based on how many days they teach and if they close the school because the buses are canceled or because everyone's snowed in they'll loose money. But, funny thing, my school's closed due to snow on the roof. They found cracks and crap and they're afraid of a cave in. |
