I don't get what you mean by that. Oh, and I forgot to mention. Those rules up there? Those are only for Slayer. That is, just killing for points. There's also capture the flag, assault(plant a bomb in the enemy base), King of the hill(control a spot on the map for the longest time), Territories(control several points on the map), Juggernaut (all players against one abnormally strong player), and Zombies(humans v zombies. When zombie kills human, human becomes zombie). All of those gametypes have even more levels of customizability. What traits does the flag carrier have? Bomb carrier? Juggernaut? Alpha Zombie? How long does it take to plant or defuse the bomb? Return the flag? Capture a territory? So many options to choose from. I even listed appearance options. Halo 3 is the most customizable game out there on the market, right now. Prove me wrong. Again, I'm not saying it's the best game out there. It has it's faults. I'm just really annoyed by people saying it's just like any other shooter. Or that it's just an average game.

Basically, Halo is the cream of the crop for the first person shooter (apples) and Brawl is the cream of the crop for the fighter (oranges), I think this is what it boils down to.

Actually, yes I do. I can't remember all the times I've heard "halosux" or anything similar to it on this forum.

There are very few of those types of posts, if any. I believe you just ranted on one user who made that type of post, while completely ignoring the rest of us. A lot of the time, people are respectable and considerate. Breaking everyone down into that category is completely overlooking the majority of people and basing your opinion on the minority.

And if you seem to think you see "halosux" all the time, well then maybe it's people just reacting to your own blatant over-fanboyism of that series. One-dimensional users are not exactly fun to be around.

What console, pray tell, won the "Battle of the Consoles" poll on the HRWF?

This point doesn't work. In the modern era of games (Last gen and current gen), Nintendo not only failed to win (GCN era), but won by one single vote (Wii era). And, if you remember right, PS2 actually almost won the final poll over the rest of the Nintendo consoles. The fact that more people voted PlayStation 2, and an equal amount of people voted Xbox 360 as best, refutes the fact that the entire forum is Nintendo fanboys. There is an equal amount who enjoy Xbox 360 and PS2 better.

gunluva wrote:
"DS vs PSP" poll? "Which game company" poll? The denial that a large percentage of this forum are Nintendo fanatics is a poorly educated statement in lieu of this evidence; which, mind you, I pulled off of the top of my head..

First off, don't you ever call me "poorly educated" again.

Secondly, DS vs PSP is one game system vs another. It's no different than saying GCN vs PS2 or Wii vs 360 or something. If you saw the original poll, I believe PSP either pulled a respectable amount or actually won.

I'll admit that the majority of the forum are Nintendo fans. But to say all of them despise anything Sony or Microsoft puts out is not only ignorant, but it is a complete generalization you have made on an entire group of people based on only a few.

I'm not trying to display that sort of personality. I apologize. I have been corrected, and I accept it. I stand by the fact that there are a majority of Nintendo fans, versus the ratio of Microsoft fans.

However, calling me not a fanboy, but a "blatant over-fanboy" of the Halo series hit me a little hard. I was acting in defense of the Halo series, seeing as others would not. I also did it the only way I knew how. If that method put me in a bad spot in this community, I accept that as well. That was my error, and I apologize. Please, continue to put down my favorite game. I won't speak about it again.

By "blatant over-fanboyism", I was referring to the fact that no matter what topic you're posting in, what you say seems to relate to Halo or Bungie in some way. At times it seems like all you talk about.

Again, I won't talk about it ever again. In fact, I'll change my avatar in a bit.

Okay, sorry to jump into this debate (i agree with Ido's apples/oranges thing), but I had to addess this:

gunluva wrote:

Okay. I can name, off the top of my head, several games that have way more customization then Halo 3:

BZFlag (you can customize virtually every variable of the game, as well as easily make your own maps)
Subspace (same)
The Worms series (again, the game gives you control of pretty much every option you could ever use, you can "draw" your own maps, etc)
Spore (okay, so it's not out yet, but still, if it delivers what it promises, it'll be one of the most in-depth games of all time)
Garry's Mod(need I say more?)

So really, don't make claims like that unless you can back them up.

I can't say anything in defense. I have a rebuttal, but I can't use it. I said I wasn't going to talk about it on this forum, and you go and say that. Thanks. Please, continue.

For the time being, I will always love a Stamina-Mega-Bunny-Metal-Curry-Light-Fast-Angled Brawl over most multiplayer offerings. Special Brawl modes always seem quite hectic, especially with infinite Curry effects.

I still love Halo's multiplayer for what it is, though.

They're both the same.
Brawl has all of Nintendo's all stars in it.
Halo has all of Microsoft's all stars in it.

I voted for Brawl, though.

P.S, quit flaming, kids.

He/she could be saying that the Xbox is only known for the Halo series, which is completely wrong, and therefore he said absolutely nothing. Oh the irony.

Anyways, I'm with the whole apples/oranges thing. Though I must say, I enjoy playing Halo 3 far more and am absolutely obsessed with its Forge mode. So of course, I voted Halo 3.

Just so you know I have played Brawl and in fact do own the game.

I'd choose Smash brothers because it won't scratch up on me if I buy the limited edition like Halo 3. And since there is no limited edition that I know of, getting it on the launch is the closest thing. Still, SSBB wins.

Brawl, because it's a got more interesting game play rather than Halo 3's done to death "run and gun" aspect.

That doesn't mean they "worship" Nintendo and "despise" Xbox and PlayStation. It's a comparison of two games, not game systems, or game companies. People could like PlayStation more and think Brawl is better than Halo 3. His statement was a complete generalization.

Plus there's a huge difference between "favoring one company over another" and "fanboy"

Super Smash Broooooooooooothers!
Super Smash Brothers is a unique fighting game, Halo is...well a bit on the generic side compared to other FPSers (sorry gunluva).

EDIT: Actually, Halo 3 isn't generic, but it's not as unique as SSB when you compare each to their respective genre.
