Same as the other one, but reversed. I'm not gonna make this one have a poll because there are so many underappreciated instruments that most people would probably end up choosing the "Other" option.

Me I says accordion.

Discuss.

Oh God, yes. I was watching an accordion player, and I have so much respect for them now.

I used to play that and it's not underrated at all. It's too simple an instrument.

I'll have to agree with Einoo's accordion statement, however I am also partial to the alto saxophone.

Bass recorder. It's underrated even to people who don't think of the recorder as purely a kiddy instrument. I think they sound beautiful.

But not the contrabass. No instrument should need that much breath to play.

Ohh, I like recorders too. I used to play one after school all the time while I waited for the bus, just for fun. They fit nicely into your backpack.

I think at the time my favorite song to play was the annoying Titanic theme.

You mean a descant/soprano recorder? That's the kind that's small enough to fit in a bag. I learned to play the recorder on one of those.

I think I can play that song too. I preferred the Gruntilda's Lair theme from Banjo-Kazooie when I was primary school, though. I wish the recorder society here would play music that isn't baroque. I like baroque music, but it's not my favourite genre, and playing it gets boring after a while. I also wish they'd have other members remotely my age, but that'll probably never happen.

Bagpipes. I love the sound of them. They vibrate my eardrums in a way that soothe me to sleep.
Then again, I'm the kind of girl that falls asleep next to running engines of all sorts so maybe I don't have a good enough ear for it...

Recorders are sweet instruments. They're mandatory at my school.

Bass Guitar.

I mean, sure, some Bassists are now looked upon as a gift to music, but for the most part, the average bassist is pretty much mixed out of every track.

Harpsichord. It's the instrument of choice for all cool, medieval, gothic-castle sounding tunes (along with the pipe organ).

^This. For some examples of great lead bassists, check out Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, and Boosty Collins.

The accordion. My dad plays it, so I have some experience with the thing.

I'm going with COLA and saying Bass Guitar. A great baseline is sometimes my favorite part of a song.
