I'm no video game pro, but I had a terrible time trying to beat Desann in Jedi Knight II.

Thardus is nothing, even on Hard Mode. It's that blasted Omega Pirate you gotta watch out for.

And that long stretch of no save stations in the Phazon Mines between entry and the power bomb. That thing is freakin' harsh.

The final bosses on Metroid Prime 2's hard mode gave me a hard time, too. Expecially since I didn't know for a while that you could just "continue" after the Ing fight to skip to Dark Samus.

Well, I finally defeated him. I found a few missle expansions before the fight, so that was a huge help.

I've never defeated that dreadful boost guardian on Hard Mode in Prime 2 though.

ARRRRRRRGL. BLBLBLBLBLBLBLBL.

That boss is one of the single. CRUELEST. Ever. I beat him once, and then the &$%##$!@^$& dark atmosphere killed me before I could grab the powerup and the health pickups!

And while we're at it, the Spider Guardian in that game seriously needs to be sent to the darkest void imaginable.

Ick, that happend to me the first time I almost defeated Quadrix. I had one side it's head bombed, I was moving into to bomb the other side of it's head, I launched the bomb and then.

GAME OVER.

I then defeated that robot in 2:46.

I wonder if there is a "Send enemy to the darkest void imaginable" beam in the game?

I could use that on Dark Samus, she's becoming like Ridley now.

Luckily, Quadrix isn't as tough, because you have the Dark Suit fighting it, and it drops big health pickups almost every time you bomb its legs.

The Boost Guardian is just a meanie. (Man, why does Metroid get all the big nasty bosses? Most evil boss ever is Arachne-X from Metroid Fusion, I swear...)

Yes my friends, I thought of another annoyence!

-Just about any Legendary/One Time only Pokemon in every Pokemon game. Beating them may be easy, but catching them is a whole other story entirely. You could get them to a sliver of heath and put them to sleep and you still wouldn't catch them.

Let me reply thusly:

ARGLE.

BARGLE.

ARRRRRGGGGGGBLBLBLBLBLBLBLBL!

The "random location" ones are the WORST. You know, the ones you have to chase all over that always run but always keep the same amount of health? YARGLE.

Seymour from FFX. You have to kill him, what, three times during the game, and each time he has even more ridiculously over-powerful moves. Not that he's necessarily hard to beat, just annoying.

I like Boes. They reminds me of the cute little Soot Spirits from Spirited Away. :P

Irritating enemy: Those big, chunky pirates from Rayman 2/Rayman DS that stomp on you. You can't kill them conventionally, so you have to lure them over a ledge, but it's so hard. However, I suppose it's worth it when you throw plums on their heads.

1) I like those soot spirits, but what about the white Boe's? Those are the ones that annoy me the most. Because they are around more and hit me more >_>

2) Big chunky pirates? Haven't gotten to them yet >_>

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that one of the other most annoying peoples in a videro game is in SSBM when level nines just mash the A move. It annoys the crap outta me.

And now, because I seem to have come to the conclusion that Metroid games are supremely good at coming up with enemies that bug the living daylights out of me, I present a Big List Of Metroid Enemies That Make Me Want To Hurt Small Fuzzy Animals.

-Imigoes (is that how you spell it) from Zero Mission. I like grub wrangling, but fighting these is just tedious.
-Rippers from almost all the 2-D ones. Especially the ones that get in the way of crucial Morph Ball paths.
-Chozo Ghosts from Prime. Already mentioned.
-Pirate Aerotropers from the Primes in general. Easy to kill once you get Super Missle, but until then, SUCH A PAIN.
-Fission Metroids from Prime. Also already mentioned.
-Voldorms from Hunters. Especially when there's a bunch in the room and you can't find their spawn point to destroy it...
-Arachne-X. MOST. ANNOYING. BOSS. EVER.
-Rezbits from Prime 2. They will make you want to cry. Especially if you don't know how to kill them quickly and/or you don't have enough Dark Ammo to Entangle them for whatever reason.
-Grenchlers/those ice spitting things in the first Prime. Very similar enemies. I loose too much health to both.
-The Metroids themselves in Zero Mission. If you get mobbed, it becomes very easy to die.
-The red Space Pirates in Zero Mission, but only until you get your suit back. How is it possible for them to see you when you're standing on a ledge ABOVE them? Add to that the fact that you die too quickly and can't kill 'em...
-Just about any fish-looking enemy.

*deep healing breath* Ok. This was helpfully cathartic.

Bah, Sephiroth is a pansy in Kingdom Hearts 1! I have yet to reach him in kingdom Hearts 2, so I don't know about that. And you have not even faced Sephiroth in FF7, thegunslinger. I see through your ploy.

Form what my friend has told me, Sephiroth is unbelievibly hard. It took him about 25 tries to beat him. He has a move that he does that is ultra powerful, it basically zaps you of all of your life. It's called Decend Heartless Angel Teleprt Sword Swipe.

Dagh. I have posted so many times in this thread, but I still haven't mentioned the most evil enemies I have ever seen...

Dark Demon, the optional boss from Demon's Crest was a bastard. He had ridiculously powerful attacks. I beat him on my fifth try (I was extremely lucky) but I've only beaten him once ever since that. At least I got my bragging rights.

Black Rabite, the optional boss from Seiken Densetsu 3 is the evilest farn thing ever. He has a bunch of strong darkness-based spells (which, by the way, heal him whenever he casts them) and he can also summon a level 99 monster to help him. Oh, and did I mention that he can cast Dark Blade on you, which makes your attacks heal him? Fun.

Sometimes, optional bosses are just not worth it. In the case of Dark Demon, something just keeps telling you that you can beat him if you practise a lot. Black Rabite, however...

Oh, and have a pic of the BR so you could imagine the horror that is this wicked creature.

Hey, you know the rule of video games. If it's cute, furry, and adorable, it can kick your butt in five seconds flat.

Tonberry, anyone?

I too just realized that Metroid is awesome at creating incredibly annoying enemies. Here is probably my least favorite ten:
*Emperor Ing on hard mode in Prime II. His first and second modes are fairly easy, but the third killed me so much I almost broke my controller in a fit of rage.
*Third Dark Samus battle, again, on hard, Prime II. Heh, this annoyed me more then the emperor. Everytime I thought I had the game in the bad, this dude came in and ruined the fun. GAH!
*Fission Metroids. Need I explain?
*Chozo Ghosts. Again, need I explain?
*Boost Guardian on hard mode in Metroid Prime II. This... little....
*Omega Pirate on hard mode, Prime I. Heh, cross between annoying and fun. Took me many tries, but I eventually got it.
*Spider Guardian, any mode, really, Metroid Prime II. It doesn't really matter what mode you are on. If you aren't good at the puzzle, then you are screwed. Hard Mode just makes it, well, harder.
*Metroid Prime, of, amazingly, Metroid Prime, on hard. On Normal, it's fun. On hard, you almost want to pull your hair out.
*That stretch of Phazon Mine while you try to get the Power Bombs, the first time you do it. Funny, the second time I did it on hard, I found it very very easy. First time... GAH!
*SA-X, Metroid Fusion, any mode, really. Now, the boss after him is really easy. But this dude is pure evil. He/she/it is a true monster.

How'd I forget these monstrosities? The last one reminded me of just how much I hated Marble Madness when I was a kidlette. And yet, I played it over and over again... And the first time after I beat this thing, I didn't realize that there was a save room right next door. ><

No, actually that's called harvest sin. Sephiroth follows a pattern and as long as you know the pattern, it's a matter of patience. It only took me 3 tries.

Some bosses are like that. You just have to figure out what works best against them and what their game plan is. RPG bosses especially. Since there's no reflexes involved, beating them is almost purely cereberal. Funnily enough, despite his famed difficulty, I beat Deadbeard in the original Golden Sun in just one go. It was mostly a matter of having my own steady pattern and having lots of Psy Crystals handy.

I don't think the problem with the Boost Guardian is that he's strong so much as that you have to fight him with no available safety zones, and once he curls up into zip-around mode it's hard to make him come back up. Although the enormous robot boss of Sanctuary Fortress is similar, he drops a lot more super-sized health picks than the Boost Guardian does.

Hmm. Ragging on something besides Metroid, Twinmold from Majora's Mask is a very difficult boss if you don't have Chateau Romani. Though you can do it on an oridinary full magic meter if you're quick, trying to beat Twinmold without the Giant's Mask is ridiculous. Though I've never tried it with the Fierce Diety's Mask, but I assume it wouldn't matter, since you have to beat him with arrows, anyway.

The beserkers in LOTR The Two Towers. They would come when it was most inconvinient, would block your blows if you attcked them from the front, had an abnormal amount of health, and dealt absurd amounts of damage. ARGLBLBLBLBLBLBLBLBLBLBLBLBLBl!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Forgot to mention the forest trolls! Throwing logs = not cool!

I found another one yesterday afternoon. The X-Yux from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Soooo annoying if you happen to accidentaly have Mario out in front when it attacks, and you get stuck. Then it keeps on freezing you until you die. BLAH.

They can freeze you? I didn't know that, I think I was wearing a badge for that or something.

Anyways, the Shadow Queen of PM:TTYD is driving me crazy. Her cutscene is way too long. I may have tried, like, once, but too much, Clanky! Too much!

I didn't think the Shadow Queen was that hard. I beat her on my first try. Bonetail is a different story. In fact, if the Pit of 100 Trials was an enemy, it would be the most annoying ever.

I'm probably going to sound like i suck at video games, but...

That Dax Fighter Ship Boss in RAC: UYA is so hard on hard mode. The last boss was easier for me. I ran out of ammo for like, EVERYTHING on that thing.

On RAC bosses:

Game One's hardest boss was most likely Drek, the final boss, if not for the fact that:
a)Alien Queen is a piece of cake.
b)The Ogre MOnster tihng has a really simple strategy, as does Qwark.
...and that you are timed.

Game Two's hardest boss(that I can remember, of course) is probably...err, crap. I'm just going with the final boss because i can only remember the easy ones. The final boss(one o' those gigantic mutant fluffballs0 actually is easy.

Game Four's Hardest Boss in undoubtedly Ace. No question asked.
