SEAN'D! wrote: Snailmail wrote: Family Guy. Futurama isn't funny. Yo, Futurama is way funnier then Fanily Guy ever could be. And a lot smarter. Family Guy has it's moments, but Futurama has that edge that makes it constantly funny. Also, you never, ever feel for the characters in Family Guy. Futurama you can relate to. And that is why Futurama is infinitely better then Family Guy. Yeah. Family Guy just seemed so devoid of emotion. I mean, I've gotten sad watching Futurama. I CRIED at The Simpsons once. Heck, I've gotten sad watching Bonus Stage! No, actually, it wasn't Ryaconning. I just get really close to crying when I watch Rya's Wedding. And to be honest, a lot of the humor in Family Guy is just immature. A lot of it is just potty humor, or just plain stupid. Really, I don't see the appeal...at all. |

Personally I like the episode with Frank, not Winchester. The toast is totally painted, man. Oh, and Matt Groening Rules! |

He does. Just keep in mind, you are NOT allowed to usurp my position as Ultimate Matt Groening Fangeek. That's MY job, dernit! |

Though I love Futurama and was an avid fan before I had even heard of Family Guy, the latter wins my heart for its sheer brilliance... |

what i like about family guy is how it has little off segments. my absolute favourite thing from family guy was peter's 'breakfast machine'. "augh! god! what was the point of all that! it doesn't make breakfast, it just shoots you!" |

That's the same reason a lot of people don't like Family Guy, and one of the reasons South Park made an episode about it. Their jokes pretty much never correlate to the plot. |

*Ursurped Shippinator Mandy's Ultimate Matt Groening Fangeek throne...'d* Anyway, it's kind of hard to choose. I like both shows, but I haven't been watching a lot of Futurama lately. The last episode I saw was about a month ago with Bigfoot in it. So, for now, I'll have to go with Family Guy. Maybe during summer I can rewatch Futurama and then I'll come up with a real choice. |

I just picked up Futurama season 2. It was on sale! *dance* And there were two episodes on it I'd never seen! I knew I had never seen Anthology of Interest 1, but I had never even heard of the robot mafia episode. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

I've almost cried after watching Family Guy... Although that is because I was sad that I wasted my time watching it... Seriously though Futurama is one of the only shows that uses actual humor to make you laugh rather than complete randomness (Family Guy) or shock value/cussing (South Park). |

i have a hunch. i'll be back........ nope, i was wrong. i thought it was on tonight. Anthology of Interest 1 has: 1. What if Bender was 500 feet tall? 2. What if Leela was more impulsive? 3. What if Fry never got frozen? And now that I've seen it, it's a very nice episode. The third act is the best, with the nerd squad trying to save the universe. "Murder isn't working! But it's what we're best at!" |

I really like both. I'm never home to watch Futurama anymore, so I really only get to watch Family Guy these days, and American Dad (though not on this poll, is better than Family Guy). So yeah, I couldn't choose. |

YES!!!!! SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME!!!!! I think Family Guy is just a crude, unfunny version of The Simpsons. Futurama manages to capture the Simpson magic, so my choice is obvious.

Well, if you haven't seen it, I'll put it in spoilers: Quote: Just before the professor starts the cloning procedure, he remarks that Seymour died at the age of 15. Fry tells him to stop and smashes the cloning machine. He reasons that since Seymour was 3 when Fry was frozen, he must have lived a full life without Fry. In those 12 years, he would have forgotten Fry and become someone else's dog. So it wouldn't be fair to bring him back now.
But then it cuts back to the year 2000, just after Fry was frozen. Seymour sits down in front of the pizza place and waits. We see the seasons change and people age, and Seymour still sits there. Twelve years pass, and Seymour dies on that spot, still waiting. The heartbreaking twist literally happens in the last 60 seconds of the episode and it changes the entire story. That's what makes it so great. |

[s]You forgot to mention that the reason he sat there so long was because Fry had said "Wait here, Seymour, I'll be right back." before going in to the future.[/s] |

Or that Seymour always waited outside the pizza place for Fry to get there in the morning. |
