I feel like saying "Wonderswan" even though it wasn't that great. Just because it's not on the poll. :P

Or the Nomad that you could play old Sega games on, or the Game Gear, or the Lynx...okay the Lynx really sucked but still.

I'm partial to any Gameboy, whether it be a DS, advance, or my beloved 2 lb brick with what appears to be bite marks on it, and the signature of whoever owned it before me.

Oh, right, my vote. I said GBA, because that's the only one on the list that I have...

*edit* wow, I totally didn't realize that this was my 600TH POST! le w007.

DS, there was no competition. At all.

And there never will be any competition.

Touching is good.

The GBA is OK, but outclassed by the DS. The PSP doesn't have enough killer apps and the UMD is dying. I don't know anything about the rest.

What is the 'DS lite?' That's probably a dumb quextion, but considering I have a DS, I want to make sure I didn't get ripped off.

Being the Nintendo fanboy that I am, it's down to DS and GBA.

I loved the GBA for the backwards compatability it had. Unfortunately the same doesn't go for the DS.

Ah, well. The DS is better in almost all other aspects. So DS it is.

The DS Lite is a new-and-improved version of the DS. If you have a DS, you probably shouldn't run out to get this one. Consider it the GBA SP of the DS.

Game Park Holdings GP2X best thing I ever bought. Great for devving and can ghold anykind of emulator or media file. Heck I've even got a few PSP games on it.

EDIT: http://www.benheck.com/ this guy makes handhelds out of any system you can imagine. Even a portable PS2!

I voted DS just because of Mario Kart.

And, PSP's music is too quiet, the memory sticks cost a billion, and, the newest and worst thing, is there's now a virus you can get on your PSP through some site on web browsing, which will not be good for PSP, or, your literally staying alive.

Well, I'm a Nintendo fangirl so it goes between the DS Lite and GBA...

Hardware wise, the DS Lite. Because of those super brite screens :)

Game wise...I can't chose. The GBA had so many great games from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga to Final Fantasy Tatics Advance.

While the DS has games from Contact to Children of Mana.

I...cannot...chose...

Both win :)

The DS Lite is the smaller, lighter, and succesor to the orginal DS.

It will have the brightest screens of any handheld to date, a better designed mic, a bigger pen, and better battery life.

Here is the wiki article...

My graphing calculator. Despite its very limited gaming capabilities

I don't own any of those but if I could have one I'd choose the PSP.

The gizmondo was an emulation hand held. It had many grwat capabilitiues and was a very versatile system. It's games were mostly homebrew, so it didn't catch on.

I wasted so much of my life on GBA it's not even funny. So GBA. And Papai, your signature is way too big. Make it 100x500 and it'll be sweet like meat.

That, and the fact that its head exec was apparently... not a good man probably doesn't help matters. (Stolen Ferrari? Ouch!) Also, maybe it's just me, but its button setup looked uncomfortable. I should probably find one and try to hold it before I pass judgement, though.

It really bugs me though that the DS can't play original GB games. I mean, that's what I have a Game Boy Player for, but... geez. Would it kill ya to include that feature, Big N?

Here's something that's been bugging me for the past few days. Now, UMD's have been fading from popularity, but they still make 'em. So here's my question. Suppose a Nintendo-owned series gets a movie made out of it. (I was specifically considering Metroid because some producer owns those rights, but any series, really. Golden Sun is another franchise that some people want movie-ified, so you could think in terms of that.) When it came out on DVD, would it also be supported in UMD?

I mean, I've been thinking about it for a while and it just makes my head hurt. I mean, it would be the studio's decision, I suppose, but you can't just put something Nintendo on a Sony, and it just... arrrrg.

Acually, I wish that the Game Boy screen on the DS would fill up the entire screen instead of it being the size of a Game Boy Micro.

This is because the screen is so tiny that it makes my dizzy in about half an hour.

So I suppose I will still be keeping my Gamecube for one use... ;)

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but the systems that play backward only go back one. And I mean Nintendo, I don't know about the PS3. Like Gamboy color could play Gameboy games (but the coloring was gone) Advance could play Color, and the DS plays Advance.

DS Lite, since I'm saving money for it.

PSP is too expensive. Besides, the ability to watch movies on a tiny screen with a short battery life doesn't appeal to me.

Agreed. It does seem like PSP is more popular than DS in general. :( Atleast it seems to me like people prefer PSP.
Excluding the ability to watch movies, it doesn't have very many features. The whole movie watching concept is overrated and adds to the price. If you really want to watch movies on a train or a bus or somewhere, just get a fricken' laptop.

*blows into a seashell horn* Nintendo fans, asssembleee!!
