Get this: The PSP is a multimedia device. The DS is a gimmick, nothing more. Even it's title is 'Dual Screen', the gimmick.

Meh. As for the system itself, I would go with DS, but game-wise, I find the GBA to be a much more fun handheld. So I'll go with GBA.

Where's the Game boy color?
I loved that when I was ten!
But if I had to choose which of those I'd want most (seeing as I don't have any) it'd be the PSP. It has GTA and Midnight Club!

Gimmick?

*giggles*

Well, I can say this. While not all games have used the DS innovative features, some are really inventive and sometimes very necessary.

For example, in Sonic Rush, both screens are combined to depict one world.

Or in Nintendogs where you use the Mic to call your puppy and tell him commands.

And it's just neat seeing how Mario and Luigi Partners in Time uses the two screens for some very inventive enemy maneuvers.

I'm sorry Funk, I'm a Nintendo fangirl. I must defend Nintendo if possible. And as I've said before, don't judge a game by it's cover.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but the systems that play backward only go back one. And I mean Nintendo, I don't know about the PS3. Like Gamboy color could play Gameboy games (but the coloring was gone) Advance could play Color, and the DS plays Advance.

Advance could play original Game Boy games too. I do it all the time with mine. Kirby's Dreamland 2, man. Yeeeaaaah. Good stuff right there, man!

I think PS3 is doing that "select backwards compatibility" thing that the XBox 360 did. Really dumb idea if you ask me, but you didn't, so...

Well, to be truthful. I don't think the Wii will have a download library consisting of every single Nintendo game ever published. While I'm hoping for Super Metroid and Earthbound, I doubt either will make it.

But on the plus side, it will have Gamecube compatibility. Meaning that the $300 I spent in Gamecube software will not go to waste.

I'm not judging a book by it's cover, I've played the DS. Heck, I've even tried breaking them before.

Just to proove how awful DS's's's's's's are:

Jordan (kid from school): I was gonna get a PSP, but I couldn't afford one, so I got a DS.

He only got a DS because he is poor.

So, the DS is worse then the PSP becuase the price is lower? :-S

Well, if you take out the UMD movie player, the MP3 player, all the USB attachments, and the camera function. You have a severly priced down video game machine.

This is why Nintendo systems are more inexpensive. Becuase they don't have extra add-on features. And as I've stated before, being able to watch a movie on a console will never improve gameplay.

I mean, just look at the PS3. That thing is a simple computer!

Since they're both first-party titles, and both very good ones, I'm sure they'll both show up. Earthbound is very, very likely, and I can't imagine how Super Metroid could not be there. That's like not having Ocarina of Time or Super Mario Bros. 3. It's the definative!

All I'm hoping is avaliable for Wii download is Goldeneye. I lost my copy of the game and my N64 stopped working a loong time ago. This was really the only game i ever played for N64, most of the time I was glued to my PS1.

Toastpaint.

What about the game gear? That thing pwned. I didn't own one but the kid next door did, Sonic Pinball was great, if only it had better battery charge and cost less, then it would of beat out the Gamebot Brick with ease
.

Nope, the PSP doesn't have a touch screen.

I have a GBA SP.

I've tried the DS and PSP.

Both of them are really uncomfortable and weird to me, and I heart my GBA SP. It's got the works.

- Completely backwards compatible
- Lots of games are still made for it
- Kickin' backlight
- Personally, I find it way more comfy to hold than the previous GBs
- L and R buttons make the COOLEST clicky sound

And some other stuff. But yeah. PRIDE!

Roasted, I've just been agreeing with you more and more lately. And I agree with you now.

I got my SP as an early birthday present a few years ago. Blue, pretty sweet. It has since been usurped by my younger half-sibs, mainly for Four Sword purposes and the like, and all my attempts to steal it back have been thwarted by tantrums; but I still love it, and it know it loves me.

I never felt the need for a DS, really.

Or a potable DVD player.

I like GBA the best, mostly because that is the only thing on the list that I have. Plus, the DS slogan is kind of disturbing...

My see-through game boy pocket had a few ants residing in it as well. I guess they came in through my duct-tape battery cover.

I will never understand the appeal of handhelds, but if I had to have one I'd get either an SP or a PSP. If I got an SP it'd only be for the price. The PSP has a decent sized screen (!), a good range of good games already available for it, and is powerful enough to run homebrew emulators etc decently. Never really understood the point of the DS. What's so mindblowingly useful about a touch screen? So your stylus gets in the way of the screen; big whoop. Use buttons.

damik umm.. i really hope that your avatar is not you if it is i will be embarassed but *jibblies*

back on task: portables are good if you are like on vacation, or are bored at a relatives' house, or if you need to hide in a linen closet to hide from your annoying younger cousin (as long as it has a lit screen)

I was so addicted to KD2 when it came out that I was actually frightened of taking it out of my Game Boy for several months. What if Dark Matter got angry and caaaame for meeeeeeee? *spooky voice*

It finally came out when I bought a new game... a little blue Game Pak called Pokèmon. Talk about trading one addiction for another...
