1. Nintendo never said that.

2.In Metriod, you shoot everything that moves. Oh yeah, real kiddy right there. Or The Legend of Zelda, where you slice up monsters with a sword. Now that's what I call kiddy. Or Super Smash Bros., where plumbers, spiky turtles, eskimos, super powered monsters, etc. are beating the crap out of each other. Now that is Barney caliber kiddiness right there buddy.

Oh yeah, I voted DS BTW.

Metroid is definitely the darkest first party series Nintendo has, but Zelda has a certain surreality and whimsy about it that makes it semi-kiddie. But check out Disaster: Day of Crisis and Project H.A.M.M.E.R., two of their upcoming IP's. H.A.M.M.E.R. is all about senseless robot carnage and Diaster looks pretty awesome. Not kiddie at all.

Smash Bros. is just a silly game, though. :P

Yeah, that didn't really work, did it?

DS Lite! Also, to tell the truth. I love the DS Lite 20 times more then the DS.

Anyways, Nintendo has made games "kiddie" in apperance but hardcore underneath which ultimately results to a wider range in who will buy the games. Pokemon for example. On the surface its all cute with nice little creatures that you befriend and take care of but when thinking about it your capturing and forcing animals to beat each other to within an inch of death just to heal them to do it all over again. They are not your friends, they are your slaves!

Then theres the addiction factor. Nintendo is much better at making addictive games then other companies. After a while most people playing Halo, or GTA will get bored. Playing Nintendo games though you can be entertained for hours, if not days and weeks on end.

Sadly, I have to agree with damik.

But still, I don't care. Call it kiddy if you really like. But Nintendo's games are FUN. You could make some game with the darkest, most realistic graphics ever and with bells on and cheese and onion flavor for all I care.

Gameplay is really what's important, IMO.

"The Mystical Land of Mushrooms" is refering to Mario. It was supposed to be obvious sarcasm or something.

I'm getting bored of Nintendo for doing the same series over and over again, Susan. When they decide to put that new Mario game where you're a skeeball player and make a new series, someone please call me. :p

(That wasn't meant to offend but I probably will offend anyways.)

(A skeeball game would freakin' ROCK!)

What I'd like to see is a Super Smash Bros.-style all-star Nintendo game...

But with racing instead of fighting.

Super Dash Bros. HECK yeah.

But why mess with a winning formula. And there are new series coming out. You just gotta find them. But to tell the truth. Most games now arnt new at all. Many FPS are the exact same as other FPS. Many racers are extremely similar. Saying Nintendo's series is boring but not saying the other companies series is boring to is just stupid. (No offence)

See, the reason people often think that Nintendo's games are just copies of each other is because they feature the same characters. While Sony or Microsoft's games may not feature the same characters over and over again, that doesn't mean their games are completely original. Heck, you could call almost ANY game a copy of some other existing game, unless it's some totally out there thing like Katamari Damacy.

My point is, just because a game may seem like a "copy" doesn't make it always a BAD game.
