Most beautiful song: Your Hand In Mine - Explosions in the Sky.

Eye of the Tiger and Rock you like a Hurricane? They're good songs, but "beautiful" is not the type of adjective I would associate them with.

Bohemian Rhapsody is my choice.

I love "Your Song." :)

Especially as sung by Ewan MacGregor. Mmm. ;)

SO I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. Honestly, whenever I tell my mom I actually like the Moulin Rogue version better, she just looks at me like I'm psycho.

Out of the options, Let It Be.

But of course, being the Pet Sounds freak that I am, if I had something like "TEH ALL POWERFUL VOTE OF ALL TIMEZ WITH A SONG IN IT AND STUFFZ," God Only Knows by the Beach Boys takes the cake..... and eats it too.

Or, if we're talking classical here (it appears that we aren't, but what the hey), then definitely Bach's Prelude in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier. It's almost impossible to find a music file of on the Internet, so I won't be posting a link. If you can find it, please post it.

We're extending our boundaries, are we? Then let me say that the Sound Stone melody from Earthbound is very beautiful, especially the way it's arranged in the ending credits.

On the list, let it be wins, but I think that the most beautiful song ever is O, Green World by the gorillaz.

I like 'Clocks'...It's nice. not Coldplay really, though. They're songs all sound the same. Like, I heard 'Clocks' and thought it was nice, then I heard more Coldplay songs and was like, 'Oh, hah...It's clocks with a slightly different tune and tempo.'

'Let It Be' is really beautiful, though. When I hear it I just wanna cry. Like, in a good way.

In fact, I'm gonna stop listening to 'Clocks' (I forgot what it sounded like and had to play it again xDDD) and start listening to 'Let It Be'.

My vote went for Let It Be.

I know this isn't on the list, but does anybody find Blackbird (by The Beatles) to be an incredibly beautiful song? I think it's the most beautiful song I've ever heard.

Yes huh! It's quite a lovely song. But isn't it actually a cover of an old folky-type song? Or is that something else? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was. Doesn't matter though, because it's a great song.

No, Blackbird is an original composition.

But as you said, it doesn't matter because it's a great song!

Mother Nature's Song is another very beautiful song.

Heck yes! I can't remember what album the song was on though, otherwise I totally woulda gotten it. In fact, there are a whole bunch of Beatles songs I consider to be beautifull than Let It Be. Like A Day in the Life. That's probably my favorite song of all time, man.

Ummmm, I really wouldn't consider "A Day in the Life" to be "beautiful". More like "freakin' awesome".

Usually I would go with a classical piece here, but I think Bohemian Rhapsody has earned its place up there with Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, Fur Elise, and Ode to Joy. Um....I have a food in the oven.
Goes into a corner, listens to it on ipod, bursts into tears

I anyone saw Live 8 or whatever it was called, and all those people were singing Let it Be and everyone was joining in.
That was a heartwrenching moment.

Never saw that, but I don't doubt that I'd probably end up weeping my eyes out.

I once heard this strange gospel/soul cover of Let It Be. It was such a travesty. The singers were trying to make it more beautiful and soulful, which is just--no. The power of it comes from its simplicity. You add organs and orchestra and a choir and you're just overkilling it. It's too personal a song to add in all those extra people.

That's so true. I get really bothered by people trying to make covers of already good songs. They don't need to.

Why stop them? Maybe they don't want to release the song so the public will enjoy them? Maybe they said, "Let's play Let it be!, just because it is a cool song and I would like to have it on my album!"

Well, I know. It just annoys me when it sounds different, when they make the song into something I don't like, OR when they try to make millions selling albums of this covered song.

Most of these songs don't really strike me as beautiful. Let it Be, for sure. Maybe Stairway. But Rock You Like a Hurricane? It doesn't get more un-beautiful than that...

I try not to discredit covers unless I hear them, unless I ansolutely know it can't work... like that rap cover of Under Pressure. Ugh. Like that new cover of Life Is a Highway is pretty good. "I wanna ride it alll night looong!"

Has anyone ever heard the song Into the West on the Return of the King soundtrack, that is such a beautiful song in my opinion.
And While my Guitar Gently Weeps (I think) is a much more emotional song than Let it Be. Even All you need is Love is.

Dude.

The most beautiful song ever is The End Of The Tour by TMBG. But I'm probably the only person who thinks that. Sigh.

Yes, you are. That was my "Reality Check of the Day"! Thanks everyone! You've been a great audience! Tip your waitresses! :P

No seriously... it's a great song. But IT'S FREAKIN' NONSENSE, ALRIGHT? Jeez. It doesn't actually MEAN anything..... *runs away as fast as my tiny, useless legs can carry me*
