I'm happy to see that "Always" is getting most of the votes, but it's too bad that some people just forget to wear it all the time.

Anybody who intentionally doesn't wear their seat belt is an idiot!

I have to agree on that. Not wearing a seatbelt may cause a lot of car accidents.

Like most people (I think), I always wear it. I mean, why not? There's no reason not to.

Exactly. I mean, it's not like it'll make you cool or anything, so what's the point? Just wear it, it's not so bad.

it reminds me of that time on the mini-bus the 'cool kid' was saying "why are you nerds all wearing seat belts? only unpopular kids wear them!" we were all saying he was an idiot, but he wouldn't listen. then, the van stopped suddently and he whacked his teeth into the seat in front of him.
i can without doubt say: you had it coming, idiot!

Prime time, thats hilarious.

I always wear my seatbelt, and have to remind my mother to put it on sometimes.

yeah, I'm just wondering.... Don't you get in trouble if you don't wear a seatbelt? In Australialand here, we get a $300 fine or something. Best road safety in the world or something.
So anyway, I can't imagine not wearing a seatbelt, it just doesn't work in my brain.

Here in America you do as well. It's a fine of some sort as well. Another fine reason why I wear mine.

A fine is fine so long as you don't get a fine.

I'm surprised that Germany has no speed limits making driving crucial. Accidents always occur when people are not wearing their seatbelt.

True, but in Germany you have to be 18 in order to get your licence. The cars are also made of much stronger material and are three times as safe as the cars in America.

Isn't it the law in every state?

Always..
When you've rolled a car (it was a racecar, so I guess that doesn't count), and been in a couple accidents (I've only been in one with me driving), you'll recognize the importance of buckling up.
It's actually kinda dumb not to.

No I don't think it is in saskatchewan, but yeah I think it is. But actually in my state all I see is in Wisconsin we're cracking down, never about in IL and i'm on the border

I'm not sure. Michigan makes a HUGE deal about it though, spending 1000s and 1000s of dollars making corny ad campaigns.

Hey, this reminds me. On Saturday I was coming back from New York, and during the course of four states I saw electric signs in each of them saying "Click it or Ticket!" or something to that degree. There must've been a Memorial's Day campaign going on. It seemed very Big Brotherish at times, though. :kot:

Hah. My brother thought the alchohol check in my town was a seatbelt check. He said, "Why don't they just buckle up before they get there?"

So stupid. :)

Oh yeah, NY has a whole bunch of signs like that. They're all over the highways.

I figured, it's just that THE SAME SIGNS were across four different states, on the same day. Well, hang on, not the sign, the message. It was on those electronic message boards that usually have traffic info and whatnot. That's why I noticed it again.

Isn't it, like, compulsory?
Besides, I just do it automatically, I don't see what's so bad about it.
Although our state was one of the first places in the worl to make it illegal not to.
