I'm not promoting myself or my thread, but I want to see if a poll would change results at all. I'm betting that TMBG is gonna win by another landslide.

I voted led zep, but it was REALLY close between them and Queen. I was thinking "Yeah, but led zep Led Zep has kashmier." and then "Queen has Bohemian Rhapsody, although." Led Zep edged out in the end.Image

OK, so it's not my FAVORITE Queen song ever, but they are definitely the best band on that list. Well. The Beatles are awesome too, but I had to vote for Queen, yanno?

I love TMBG as much as (actually, probably more than) the rest of you, but saying they're the best band on that list is madness. I think if you went up to Flans and Linnell and told them that you think they're better than the Beatles they'd roffle in your face for a solid twenty minutes.

Hey, they scored 4th on the list, above Led Zeppelin. Don't get me wrong, but I love both bands. It's just that I love Green Day's music more. Led Zeppelin is better, but I like Green Day more than Led Zeppelin.

So, so true, IJ. The Beatles will always pwn whatever band there ever was. I mean, think about it! If it wasn't for the Beatles, we wouldn't have soooo many of the bands we know and enjoy. Heck, I even bet that TMBG, Green Day, Queen, Led Zepplin,and all dose other bands wouldn't even be around now if it wasn't for them. They totally founded rock, not Elvis. He founded... uh... the twist, I think. I don't even know if thats him! :-S

I'm gonna have to go with Topofsm on this one. They Might Be Giants just seems like a few guys who are pulling a prank on all of you. You know, you buying their albums when they aren't really that great. There is better stranger stuff out there. You just have to dig around for it. Maybe you'll get something half-decent.

The Beatles is the best band, no arguement.
But Queen and TMBG and Led Zep and WHite Stripes and Wierd Al and the rest are all great too.

Hmm. I thought this poll was about your favorite band...

Ah, it's not. The Beatles win, then. They could quite possibly be the best band of all time. I don't particularly enjoy them as much as say, the Barenaked Ladies, but I respect what they've done and recognize their success.

You like Green Day and not TMBG? That makes me lose faith.

A lot of you seem to be laboring under the misconception that TMBG is all about g33k r4wk. You're absolutely wrong. Though the majority of their work is that funny kind of thing, I defy you to say "Your Racist Friend" is a funny, stupid song. A lot of their songs are actually quite touching.
