I should add that the fact that TMBG beat out the Beatles DOES restore some of that faith. Not much, though. Restore? *commits suicide* I never got TMBG. They're not that good. Wow... You like Green Day and not TMBG? That makes me lose faith. A lot of you seem to be laboring under the misconception that TMBG is all about g33k r4wk. You're absolutely wrong. Though the majority of their work is that funny kind of thing, I defy you to say "Your Racist Friend" is a funny, stupid song. A lot of their songs are actually quite touching. Dang straight, Ace. Another example: All my friends think "Cyclops Rock" is just a rockin' song, but listen in and you will hear about the ultimate paralysis, death. You know, It was sweet like lead paint is sweet, but the after-effect left me paralyzed. Anyway, I voted for Queen. No one beats Queen. ![]() ![]() ![]() TOTPD!!!!!![]() ![]() ![]()

Off the top of my head, here are some good TMBG songs for people who only like "normal" music. I'm going to even avoid the deep stuff like Your Racist Friend and just go for the ordinary, "musicky" songs. -Another First Kiss. A sweet, simple love song. A few silly lines, but nothing that would throw anybody off. -Damn Good Times. Let's dance the night away, girlfriend! -New York City. Again, another love song, but a deliciously peppy, groovy one. -Cyclops Rock. It doesn't HAVE to be deep. Most people probably just hear the awesome beat. -88 Lines About 44 Women. An incredibly bawdy older song, but I have a bizarre soft spot for it. Just a rant of the "former girlfriend" persuasion... and it's actually 89 lines, if you want to get technical, since Katherine has three. I can't think of any more at the moment, but that's probably just because my brain feels broked. |

TMBG. No question. But Wierd Al comes close second. So I guess that there is a question. |

Nobody's mentioned The End Of The Tour yet?! If that song's not deep, I don't know what is. |

This was hard. The Gorillaz, The Beatles, or Reel Big Fish? Now, I chose the Gorillaz, because I listen to them the most. Plus, the fact that they 0wn. Although TMBG are good, they're not that great. I think the only reason they're popular her, is because they made a song for H*R, and H*R made one of their songs into a music video. They... nearly... never mind. If I finished, I would be stabbed into the pits of hell. |

No Pink Floyd? Dag, yo. TMBG. I mean, all of the bands on there are amazing (Green Day, only in their earlier days) but I enjoy TMBG the most out of them. |

People who don't think TMBG isn't a good band just haven't heard much of their music. Fun fact: If you've only heard "Experimental Film" or tracks from Flood, you don't actually know what TMBG sounds like. It's cool if you don't like their music--it's not for everybody--but I'm not about to let anyone get away with saying they're not a good band. |

Now, looking back on what bands are on the top-10 list. It's kinda sad. I thought fans of H*R would have a more original taste in music! (you can't fling TMBG at me when I say that it's not original if about 99.9% of the forum is in love with them) Oh, well, I guess I'm just sad about blues slowly dieing away. |

InterruptorJones wrote: I love TMBG as much as (actually, probably more than) the rest of you, but saying they're the best band on that list is madness. I think if you went up to Flans and Linnell and told them that you think they're better than the Beatles they'd roffle in your face for a solid twenty minutes.
See, but, I actually know more TMBG songs than Beatles songs. So it's not really about who's better so much as who I listen to more.
Mandy why does your sig always seem to include the song that's stuck in my head right now. |

What album do you think would be the best to hear what they really sound like?

Lincoln or John Henry, in my opinion. However, I'm not Jones, so feel free to ignore me. |

Man... it's like the best of the best up there... Can't I just vote for them all? After a few moments' comptemplation, I picked the White Stripes. Maybe later I'll regret it and want to pick Gorillaz. Or maybe something wil be stirred within me and I'll want to pick TMBG... I dunno, they're just not as thrilling to me as they once were. But right now, I don't regret it at all. |

Because it fits. She died frustrated and sad, AND THAT IS BEAUTIFUL! *rocks out* Except I'm actually listening to a more different song that fits in a more different way. And DUA, how the heck are TMBG not creative? They're VERY creative, much more so than most bands these days. |

I'm not saying theya ren't creative, I'm just saying it's not original for avid webtoon watching internet users to liek TMBG. That's all. Still depressed about blues not being appreciated as much nowadays. |

It's not a matter of "originality". It's a matter of taste. |

Some condecending jerky placed a message saying, "You have okay taste for a thirteen year old. You'll get over that TMBG stuff soon, though," on my last.fm. If I could send a digital letterbomb, I'm sure that DangFineCat would find himself sploded... Jesty style. I voted the White Stripes. Even the songs that are filler are awesome (Girl, You Have No Faith In Medicine is my favorite song by the White Stripes.) |

Virus email?
But seriously, that's just dumb. As has been noted here, they're more than just light, bouncy geek-pop. |
