Yeah. Pick your least liked genre of music. I can't stand Rap or Country, but if I had to choose the greater of two evils, I'd choose rap.

I hope I got them all (subgenres such as emo and metal don't count)

I loathe rap. I can stand every other kind of music, but if I listen to rap, I wanna gouge out my ear drums.

You dislike rap, but you own The Eminem Show.

Pop. I hate it. It's a waste of radio space.

Rap is defenitely the worst.

I think the sweeping generalizations people are making are really, really stupid.

For example, I serious dislike just about everything they play on that country music TV channel, but that's not all country is about. What about Johnny Cash? What about Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, or some of Bright Eyes' more twangy stuff? It's all country, but it's all 100% fabulous.

The same goes for rap. I find 99% of all made-for-radio rap completely banal (oh, you like women, rims, and drugs? how nice for you..), but what about the Beastie Boys? What about MC Frontalot? What about Socetew?

And "pop" is such a poorly-defined category that it's scarecely worth commenting on. You know back when TMBG was getting radio play, they were called Pop, right?

In other words, don't be a hater, and don't be a jerk.

Actually I don't own it. I think I gave it away to someone.

I really don't like rap.
Like, I can tolerate Eminem, but anything heavier that rants about wanting to slap female-dogs and gardening tools is bad.

I think PT's signature states her opinion on it. :p

Rap.

The End.

The only reason it can be called music is by the laws of asthetics.

As a lot of people here said, I hate rap and country music. However, I;m kinda forced to withstand the genre because nearly everyone in Houston plays it, and several people blare it from the radios in their cars. The "music" also has waaaay too much of a cultural impact here.

As with country, my mom and my brother (mainly my mom) are always playing that stuff. But no matter how hard I try, I simply can't stand that crap. There's this one really hokey country player who can't think of another topic for his hoke songs other than islands and tropical stuff. But my mom adores him. GAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!! *bangs head on keyboard*

Pop also is pretty annoying, but I don't think it's as bad as rap and country.

Rap, but I couldn't choose between rap, counry, or R&B. Country and R&B have good songs, so I chose rap.

Country has to be the worst. Rap is OK, just because of the Black Eyed Peas and the Love Below. Besides those guys, it is definately not good.
(little known fact: My older brother's friend is the ex bassist of BEP!!! But, of course, he left the band right before they became well known. Dang it!!! :()

Those guys are cool. I don't really listen to their music, but the fact that they're making it, I respect that.

Rap. It's not real music. It's just one steady beat through the song with guys talking fast. Theres no structure to it. No intro, chorus, outros, etc. Just one big verse.

I really don't like country because, to me, every song sounds the same. But it is real music.

I can't say that I hate a genre, because there are jewels in every genre. I'm sure you could name at least one hip/hop or rap band that you like. I hate Rap, but I think MC Lars is good, and spreads a great message. As much as I hate the mainstream, even I can stand some hip/hop and R&B. Although most of country and pop is very annoying and most of the time, frankly - terrible, there are some bands that are great! For example, Hellogoodbye check out "Dear Jamie, Sincerely Me.". Same goes for techno and electronica. Even my favorite genres, rock and "alternative" and indie (not really even a genre), have some terrible bands and songs.

So.....in short....my least favorites are rap, hip hop, screamo, and metal.

I highly dislike rap. Actually, my tastes get rather picky, but rap is in a solid lead for bad music, in general. Although...

Rap for sure. It's a terrible genre. I actually like a few rap songs, but, well, they really are only a few.
I don't really know why it's popular amongst my classmates.

Keep in mind that not everyone likes those artists. Just because 70% of people here like TMBG, doesn't make everyone like them. I don't like them.

So? (*thwack*) Thosee were just examples. I just think it's stupid for people to judge an entire genre of music based on what they hear on the radio or on TV. There's a lot more out there, peoples. Open up your minds a bit.

my favorite oxymoron: Rap Music

I mean, fine- rap lyrics might be slightly creative if I actually paid attention to them, but the music is either repetative electronially engineered garbage that takes no talent to create, or they're sampled (aka stolen) from real R&B musicians of the late 70's early 80's.

Rap, hands down. In today's MTV-ized culture, "music" has been watered down, but nothing like rap. Atrocious grammar, incomprehensible lyrics, and many other factors make it impossible to spell "crap" without "rap."

Latin pop. And you know what I mean; I don't mean The Mars Volta. I mean skinny women from Mexico going "SHA LA LA LA, DON MESS WIT MY HART!" Ugh. Why is this considered music? And I'm not going to elaborate here, but grindcore is terrible.

Hey there, watch it! Christian rock is my favorite kind of music. i's just like regular rok, only it has a Christian message. And normally it's just vague about it, it's not normally all out there saying "Believe in God or you go to hell!!! *screams*"

Country is the worst of all genre's. Rap has some redeeming artists, Danger Doom, N.W.A., Mos Def.

Country is just an awful drunken father of rockabilly.

Shakira is the worst, but, at least when she sings in English, she is half-intelligible.
