Thank God I'm not you, then.
Random "things explode for no reason" movies can be fun.

If that is the sole purpose of the movie, then it will bore me. I've never liked the canonical idea of the summer blow-things-up movie. I'd see them in the theaters, though, because of the sound system. I don't the purpose of those movies is to be engaging. But, if I had the chance to see another type of movie, especially horror, I'd rather see that.

I'm not saying I hate explosions in movies, or in general. The best concert I've ever been to was Rammstein, for chrissake! Literally a religious experience.

But 99.9% of the time, they're not.

My point exactly. Sure, explosions are great over a huge sound system, but not on TV speakers. I'd never waste my time renting one of those type of movies.

Says you..
If you're in the mood for one of those movies, you can't beat it. Most of the time, though, I like "things explode and they have a good reason to do so" movies.

Um...sorry to say this, but I believe Q isn't gonna be in this film. I guess because it's when James Bond just became a Double 0 agent or sumthin' like that.

OH well. There will still be random explosions.. I'll survive.

People like you make me sick. All you want is gadgets and explosions, and you don't even care if the movie stays true to the book

No movie "based" on a book really stays true with it. You'd wish, though.

Even if a director stays implicitly to the books plot and such, their interpretation of the events in the book will always differ from yours. Thusly, making a perfect adaptation technically impossible.

Eh, I've never been big on Bond, and I almost certainly won't see this.

That's one of the reasons I love ATHF so much. All their stuff always explodes.

Okay, that's not a movie. So sue me.

I love it when they do that. Even when throwing plastic toys they still explode.

Bingo. If you keep going into the theatre expecting a film to be just like the book, your going to become cynical and disillusioned with the movie making system. Like me.

Also, how true to the book do you think the last Casino Royale movie was?

the last one was just a spoof, but the last serious one was true to the book. Not exactly, but close enough.

Okay, you got me on the spoof thing. 64's Casino Royale wasn't really considered to be 'canon' to the Bond films. However, there was no film adaptation of Casino Royale prior to 1964. If you mean the television adaptation from the '50's, then yes, it was fairly true to the book (or so I've heard)but only because Flemming wrote the script himself. I doubt he did that for the upcoming movie.

Ive ytalked to people who've read the script. They say that it is in fact true to the book.

As DeathlyPallor said, it's a logical fallacy.

what I ment by trueto the book is the same basic plot. (La chriffe bets lots of money on a game fo baccerat to fund his orginazation, bond wins, La chriffe kidnappes bond and tortures him, people who La chriffe is gambleing for come in and kill him just as la chriffe is abot to finish bond.) IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE MOVIE OR BOOK SPOILED, DO NOT READ THE ABOVE TEXT!

...that's like showing a very violent cartoon and then saying t=at the end "The previous program may not be suitable for children under 14."

I'm not going to see it. I never really liked Bond that much.

I'm going to kill you but it's funny because I used a rubber chicken.

I'm not a fan of James Bond flicks. I like movies where you can get to know the characters, and not through just a few scenes.

Every new Bond actor gets beat up by the hardcore fans before the first film is ever shown. That's how it always goes. When the film hits the screen we'll see what's really up.

As campy as the Bond movies usually are, I have trouble seeing how people get so worked up about them.

I know it was a joke and all, but you just spoiled the entire book for me and probably a bunch of other readers. X-( :-(

He's no longer James Bond, he's James Blonde!
Also, after I saw the trailer, I wanted to see it less because of two things:
1. I couldn't tell it was a James Bond movie until almost the end of the trailer. That's a bad sign that they have changed it too much.
2. It looked like they had gotten rid of the whole 'spy' part of the movie and just went with a big 'I'm going to run into a room full of 100 guys and take them all out with this small twig and a comically shaped carrot, without messing up my hair' kind of movie. And the spying is what makes James Bond cool.

The End.

I just hope he isnt like George Lazenby or Timothy Dalton. (George Lazenby played 1 007 movie in His majestys service, when the wife died. Tinothy Dalton played in just 2 007 movies, Lisnece to kill and The Living Daylight.) I really hope its good and isnt a flop.
